; hey guys what does reverse phase in subwoofer mean Check your sub amp settings. If it's at 0 degrees then set to 180. If it's at 180 set to 0. ;D Oh but what if your sub has 0 90 180 and 270 for phase adjustments ;D In all seriousness, the EQ will be a great tool. I certainly benefit from the EQ portion of the set up, and then tweak a little hot here or a little cooler there in the frequency band. The out of phase, in phase can be altered by the room acoustics, so it doesn't necessarily mean the EQ system is wrong. It is just receiving out of phase feedback due to wave cancellation. It may actually just bring a major acoustical issue to your attention that would otherwise go unnoticed. There are still tweaks to be made for sure, but I am able to have very pleasing results in the theater now with the SW update. Hopefully others are seeing similar results.

What the processor may be telling you is that your speakers are out of phase with your system not each other. Try reversing polarity on both the left and right speakers, so that they still match each other, but are opposite of what they are currently. Thats a good point...but I ran EMO-Q a few times already and half the time it says they are fine the other times it says they are out. I'm just ignoring what it says about phase at this point. I can understand you confusion/frustration too my yamaha also tells me that one of my speakers are out of phase and it`s a different speaker on every try first it`s the left front then the sub then right rear etc... and the x-overs are always different always to high my klipsch KG 5.5s are good down to 34hz and REW confirms this but auto EQ on the yamaha always sets them to 200 , 150 or 120 hz etc..it`s never the same also when I added room treatments it would go to 80 , 70hz it got better but still not right I had to manually set them to 40hz where they sounded right and that is where I set my subs at too so you see it`s not something unique to Emo-Q other auto-EQs have there faults as well remember auto EQ is something ferally new and they have a long way to go before they become a reliable tool at least the UMC lets you manually set ever parameter unlike some AVR/pre/pro`s or auto Eqs, I do not have the UMC ,but looking I think auto Emo-q is pretty good for what it is remember it`s not as powerful as audyssey and even it`s not really that accurate at lest the built in ones on AVR/pre/pro ,if you really want a good auto EQ then your better of getting an outboard auto PEQ , auto EQ isn`t a simple thing to do why do you think a good outboard auto EQ costs so much ,I`m just saying

If some of you guys are REALLY worried about your speaker phase and dont have any audio disks to check it with. Soho54 over at the avs forums made a disk that you can download and burn to check a few things including speaker phase.
I would download that and check it out.
cheers
