How many of you guys are using Blue Jean Cables? I received a few sets from them yesterday and I don't know how I feel about them. They seem very forward in the midrange and the bass from my sub amp seems lacking. They seem pretty highly regarded for the price, but I don't know. I'm using them now with my USP1 pre and 2 channels of my xpa5 to my Triad in wall system.
Anyone else here using them and if so, what do you think? Anyone else have the same experience as me?

I use Blue Jeans Cables, some Monoprice cables and Emo U and X series cables. I don't hear any difference in sound between them but I like BJC and Emo because of the build quality. The Monoprice cables are pretty sturdy too, but not as nice.

Yeah, the BJCs do seem well made. I'm in washington state so I got them the day after I ordered them, which was nice. Maybe I just need to adjust to them (which is what I think more "break in" is than anything). I do know they are very low impedance which may be letting more information through than the cables I was using which are Coincident Technology, which are a much pricier esoteric brand.

I swear by BJC and use them almost extensively for interconnects, digital coaxial, HDMI, subwoofer cables and speaker wire. Very good quality without the designer prices. I like Monoprice, but I consider them the "WalMart" of my audio accessory needs. Good for a lot of general things, but I prefer BJC.

I have a multi-fold strategy. I have BJC for my analog interconnects and really like them too! I am not sure what my final sub setup will be until those products release but I did buy a 25' XLR for my current sub from Monoprice at $6.50. Yep, I could not believe it and it really looks fine and works great. I could not justify going all out till I get all the products settled out and how much XLR I will use.
The very last thing I intend to do is update all my wiring but not until I finish the upgrade process which requires the XMC.
At that point I will either go with the BJC or Emo cables. I like the information that BJC offers and they use Belden as a standard. Another good company to work with in my view.

Blue Jeans cables are well made and mate very well with my X-series amps. I also use a pair of the Emotiva X-series cables (on the XPA-1s) and they sound just fine. I'm getting away from monoprice but still have a few spares lying around for specific purposes and emergencies.

I'm using 1 Blue Jeans HDMI cable (30 feet) from my UMC-1 to the projector and it is excellent. I went for the thicker kind as it's installed in the wall and in the attic. Other than the fact that it has a wide turning radius (due to the thickness) I like it a lot.

I redid my entire system including speaker cables with BJC last year. Very pleased with the results. Excellent service as well.

My system is all Blue Jeans Cable. Great build quality, reasonable prices, and great customer service.

I've played around with the system some more tonight and it seems to be "gelling" a bit more. I think it is a combo of the new wires and getting my USP1 set up right. My 2 channel system consists of Triad silver monitor in wall speakers with a Triad powered in wall sub under each one. I'm playing with the cross over settings on the USP1 along with the gain on the Triad sub amp and it is sounding much better. I took the Coincident wires out of the system and put some BJC's on the sacd player too. Sad that they sound every bit as good, if not a bit more detailed than the Coincidents that cost $400/meter pair!
Now, my UPA-1's are arriving tomorrow and I'll have to make more changes. The XPA5 will then go back to driving the Triad 5.1 in wall system. Probably order more BJC cables. They do seem great for the money.

I'm another who uses Blue Jeans cables almost exclusively ... except for trying out the Emo XLR's and 1 HDMI all my other cables are BJC and I've never been disappointed in their quality of build or sound.

Another Blue Jeans fan here. I use their interconnects (analog and digital) and HDMI cables and DIY my power and speaker cables. I'm not one who believes cables sound different as long as they are of a decent quality. BUT, I'm a sucker for the look of the esoteric cables, so I'm modifying my BJC LC-1's and BJC Belden digital cables with some TechFlex and heat-shrink... I had wirecare.com print the designs on the heat-shrink. A little pricey, but I have enough to last for as many cables as I'll ever make. I'm using different colors of heat-shrink for the different types/channels (orange for digital, purple for sub, etc.). And since I'm posting pics, I've been wanting to show off my DIY speaker cables I made a while back. Modeled somewhat after Kimber's Monocle XL speaker cables. Aside from the banana plugs (expensive, but I got them used on eBay for way less than retail), I spent about $50 total on two 8' and one 4' for the center. Cable is 10AWG Furez from av-outlet.com and TechFlex Nylon Multifilament (more fabric like then the more common sleeving). Much better then spending thousands on cables that look good, plus I enjoy doing it. On these, I made stencils and painted the artwork on the heat-shrink, because I wanted copper color to match the 'splitter' and no one prints in copper. By the way, fun tidbit, Kimber's expensive as hell Monocle cables use the same $1 copper pipe fitting as mine, just a bigger size, and with heat-shrink over it. I find that amusing

Is the bass actually lacking or has it become more defined and more taut then what you are accustomed to? If you had flabby, booming bass before and now it seems lacking, you've learned the value of using wires as tone controls. You may prefer the flabby boom, nothing wrong with that, but the new wires have introduced a finer presentation which does not meet your approval. Try the old wires and see which you prefer.

I'm not one to put a lot of thought into cables - as long as it's decent quality, they all sound the same to me. My speaker cable is 12 ga. from Monoprice. Bare wire termination. $25 for a 100' spool. For my subwoofers, I'm using 2 strands from a component video cable that was put out to pasture when I switched to HDMI purchased from BJC). It's all RG-59 anyways. I did buy an RG-59 y-adapter from Blue Jeans Cable. They are located less than a mile from my office, so I ordered it online ($10) and picked it up. BJC didn't make it - it's from Tartan. BJC makes fine stuff and their service is good, but their shop/office is complete chaos inside...

Well, the system is sounding great now with the BJC and my UPA1's. I've been debating though on getting balanced cables for my pre/pro to xpa5 connections. Not really thinking I'll hear a difference, but the RCA connectors on the XPA amp seem weak and I like the sturdy connections the balanced cables offer. Has anyone used BJC's balanced cables? Is anyone running their xpa amp with balanced cables and if so, did you try RCA cables and notice any difference?

Has anyone tried these? www.cs1.net/products/canare/L-4E6S_balanced_audio.htmI ordered a full set to go between preamp ,amps and subs. They should be here Friday. I could have gone with BJC. They make basically the same thing. Cable Solutions had theses in white. Good camouflage for my white base boards and white carpet.

About 1/2 my interconnect are BJC (I think all my HDMI and DVI and about 1/2 my others). With Blue Jeans Cable you can be confident you get your money's worth. Its as simple as that. Nothing flashy but you will also have very thick quality cable.
