Now if only Dan could convince my wife. $750 plus shipping to Australia for two 12" subs is value in anyone's language.

Nice set up! ;D Do yourself a favor and, get a Harmony One unless you like having 8 remotes. Out of curiosity what kind of EQ are you using? Does it dirty up the signal chain? Those poor electronics are screaming dust me. lol ;D

Hi guy's. I love these threads... Does value enter into anyone's thinking? Does a pair of great sounding Ultra 12's for $750.00 sitting on your doorstep not make you pause? If you have $1300.00 to $1500.00 to spend, wouldn't you want to hang on to half of it, all things considered? Or, at least take a chance before you decided that the Ultra's were not going to cut it? You could buy a UMC-1 with what's left over! We use a pair of Ultra 12's in our demo theater, and they absolutely kill. If you like our other products, do you really think we'd build a bad sub? Forget cost, these are great subs and very well engineered and developed. I'm surprised that you guy's aren't giving us a try. I've made it pretty easy to take the plunge. Fortunately, a lot of other people have purchased them at this great price this weekend. I hope you guy's do too. Free shipping, 30 day trial period, 5 YEAR transferrable parts and labor warranty, and great sound!! $749.00 for a pair of Ultra 12's. Geez. I give up. Remember, be nice to each other, please. Dig Dan Dan, For us international customers we see you waive the $25 (or whatever) shipping for US customers and some of us feel left out. I don't expect you to waive the international shipping, BUT an equivelant credit for the same $25 would go a long way. Just a thought... Vis

That equailizer is a Optimus brand from Radio Shack it's really just for looks. I bypass it, my son thinks it looks cool (I've had it forever), so I am keeping it for now.

Since emo is doing the sale, i would say that the Ultra are more value, but if emo is not doing a sale now, then the price between Ultra and rythmik are much closer then we think. The appropriate rythmik woulkd be f12 300rms amp. Also at 750, i would give epik empire a try, or maybe a quote. If none is doing any sale, i would go with rythimik.

It's a little confusing at first to get it dialed in the way you want it. But once you get the hang of it it's a total breeze.

It's actually hard to notice when you're in the room but, the photo never lies. I thought I was pretty good about dusting until I took some pics. lol I like EQs too especially, ones that light up they do look cool. I got a refurbished Harmony One from Tigerdirect.com for $129 and, it has been great. No , I didn't find it to terribly difficult to setup. Sorry and, to the OP 2 subs IMO are always better then one, Since I went with two I'll never go back to one. Less localization and higher output without distortion.

Actually, there is someone in lower CT who has a F15 that I met in aanother forum so I went down to listen to it 3 weeks ago while I was on my way to New Jersey. It was very nice. I've laid off the sub stuff because I promised to not have to beat up on you. But you ask for it all the time. You traveled from New Hampshire to New jersey and didn't give me a holler to check out my eD A7s-650?

I distinctly remember Emotiva delaying the Ultra line as they were not impressed with the sound performance and kept working it till they got it right. I have a lot of admiration for that type of manufacturing ethics and am very excited to be getting this product into my home. As for some of the other chatter on this thread it is a little over the top....again. You guys should meet and really hash it out.

Just to throw something else into the mix - if the OP is interested in more oomph, Rythmik now have a model with 600W amp and a driver with a bit more extension. It's a bit pricier though.
I have to say, what Dan says makes a lot of sense too.
I may go with 2 x ERS-112 or a 212 (whenever they appear) or indeed a couple of the ultra 12s and have them as well as the F15 (or 2).
There is a lot to be said for having more subs. How does 3 x or four ultra 12s sound? ;-)

I purchased one of the Ultra 12's when they first came out and placed my second order this weekend. I have been impressed with this little sub and it performs well in my 18'X16' theater. I am looking forward to hearing what 2 subs will do.

Actually, it was the ERS line of subs that got delayed because they weren't happy with the results. They sounded good, but Dan felt they could sound better. The Ultras don't have the graphic interface that the ERS subs will have, and therefore, required less tooling than the ERS to get it on the market.

I think it's just tough to pull a trigger on a sub that doesn't go down to 20hz or below. After all that to me is what the definition of a subwoofer is...solid price though, comparable with Elemental Designs - I think it'll make a lot of folks very happy. There is heavy competition in the budge priced subs though.
Having said that I love this company's integrity. Even though I have been living under a rock and have only discovered Emotiva 2 months ago thanks to a friend (who is still looking for a good time to purchase his 5 XPA-1s), I give them high praise.
The one thing I hope they improve on based on these forums is to deliver products on time as estimated. I heard the podcast in 2008 (looking for more info on the ERS subs) saying the UMC-1 is almost ready and is in the final phase...hmm. I do see the other side of getting the customers on the hook and waiting in anticipation as 'good business practice' but I'm still not a big fan of it. Being late a quarter is understandable, but 2 years??? That's approaching Theta's wait wait wait almost there promises.

The Ultra sub most certain can go down to 20hz, the question is, at what output? Its frequency response rating at the low end is most likely a -3db down point. Now here is the thing. When you add in another Ultra 12(or when you double up any subwoofer) your doubling the linear cone displacement, so the low end frequency response will improve. Id still like to see those T/S parameters, what the internal volume is of the enclosure etc................
