Well it looks like the XMC-1 has been redesigned. Two sub outs, Ethernet and iPad/iPhone/iPod compatible. Price looks like $999 and hopefully Emo will advise a release date soon.
Dave.

Hmmm, if it's 3rd Gen I wonder if UMC-1 owners will get that discount I see people often talking about.

This was actually just corroborated on another thread by an EmoFest attendee. UMC owners should get e discount on the XMC.

The XMC-1 will hopefully ship Jan or Feb 2011 and yes, I heard it from Big Dan's mouth, UMC-1 purchasers who bought at regular price will get the 40% discount.

Someone really has to post a big picture (front/back) of the unit, please. It looks like there are no component inputs either. My poor Wii feels left out of the party.

They did not have one for us to see. But we did see pics and there are no legacy video inputs. No composite, no component. 7 HDMI in and 1 HDMI out. George

I thought the talk from Emofest was that one would get the 40% off on the XMC-1 if they bought a UMC-1. Is that not correct? Maybe it would be best to wait for the offical word from Emotiva. But if that is true then one could use the 40% discount to buy the UMC-1 (from the LMC-1) then use that 40% discount for the XMC-1. But if there are a lot of people that would be applying the 40% discount on the XMC-1 that could possibly be an issue for Emotiva's bottom line when that time comes. Bill

UMC-1 owners can use 40% to get the XMC-1 when it is release (supposedly Q1 of 2011). Big Dan put this out today. Stands to reason that your 40% from the LMC to purchase the UMC. Talk about rewarding customer loyalty!

Well, I didn't have a 40% off to use with the UMC purchase today, but I didn't pay full price either. Got a good price on a B-stock plus used the EMO bucks I got for going to the fest. Still plan on using 40% off when XMC comes out!
Shhhhh. Don't tell my wife!

UMC owners that paid full price will be able to get 40%. You can't double dip on the 40% offer by chaining discounts that way. How is it double dipping if the XMC-1 is a third generation processor? If someone had a 40% discount on the UMC-1 that is because they bought the LMC-1. Now they bought the UMC-1 why should it matter if they paid full price or not. The idea I would think is to reward customer loyalty. If someone is a new customer of Emotiva's and buys the UMC-1 as their first purchase gets rewarded where a long time customer is not. Doesn't make sense to me from a view point of rewarding long time Emotiva customers. Bill

Hmm if this is really going to be released by jan/feb then maybe it's a contender still. Is it going to just be 7.1? I'm building the presence channels into my theater so it'll be 9.2 so be nice if it supported that. If not then I may still have to go a different route.

Emotiva has entered a tough area of the market. While amps don't change much, processors are continually evolving (note, I didn't say improving) and the marketing bar keeps getting higher and higher. 11.2, HDMI 1.4a, audyssey multeq xt32, Trinnov,.... A product's marketing life is getting shorter and shorter....certainly no more than one year before you have to make major changes.
Hopefully the XMC-1 will hit the mark on schedule without the software hiccoughs that we've seen with the UMC-1.
