This thread is funny. I haven't laughed so hard at a thread in awhile. I just wanted to add my two cents as a previous owner of Infinity Beta 50s (the step child of the F12s). These speakers need power. I powered mine with a THX certified AVR for a couple of years before getting a Emo amp. I learned one important lesson, read the speaker specs and pay close attention to the sensitivity. The 8" subs in those towers require alot of power to work. I could not get sufficient bass from my Beta speakers until I used a dedicated amp. Get the XPA-2 and you will not regret it. This is not a knock against the UPA-1, just a recommendation based on experience and the speakers low sensitivity (90.5dB). I have no issue with the XPA-2 recommendation, I'm sure it will mate nicely with the Revels... I was actually planning to buy a pair to use with my XPA-2, but opted to wait for the new Performa range to be released instead... Referring to 90.5db as low sensitivity is way off the mark... Average sensitivity for speakers is 87db... So at 90.5db the F12s need half as much power as average speakers... They are not high efficiency, as I think that would usually refer to 93db and above, but they are well above average and definitely not low...

Looking at the rest of Revel's towers, the F12's have the highest rating. I stand corrected, but I still recommend the XPA-2 to help drive the dual subs.

The new Performa Range is supposed to look like the Ultima 2 line and, presumably, borrow some of the tech from that flagship range... I was all set to purchase a pair of M22s, but I asked my dealer if a new range would be released soon... A quick phone call to a distributor and my money will stay in my wallet until the new range is released...

Might be awhile before I review them, since they won't be out until at least March... And it's hard to keep the money aimed at them in my pocket until then as I have a few other projects I'd like to start in the meantime...
