All I know is I am extremely happy to own a UPA-7 and I'm glad I made the move before they went out of production.

I never understood why the UPA-5 and UPA-7 were not more successful than they were. I thought they were an incredible bargain and should have sold like hotcakes. Maybe the were priced too low for people to take them as serious audiophile amps. They were the perfect sized amp for the majority of home systems and sounded incredible.

I agree, and I think you are right. I argued quite hard for one of my "audiophile" friends to buy a UPA-7 for his HT and he was very skeptical of such a "value priced" amp. But after it arrived and was installed in his system, he was amazed and pleased. Many ID audio companies suffer from both a lack of sufficient promotion and the price-snobbery that is rampant in this industry.

Late reviews and no XLR inputs.

All I know is I am extremely happy to own a UPA-7 and I'm glad I made the move before they went out of production. I absolutely second that. This part isn't off topic so much as it's in addition to, but adding a UMC-1 shortly after cleaned up the 8ch direct analog a tremendous amount compared to the JVC receivers Pre-amp section I had been using; that was noisy as heck too, very audible hissing revealed by the UPA-7 that I didnt know was even there before using only the JVC for amplifying as well. Simply put, the combination of a UMC-1 and UPA-7 both cleaned and opened up 'everything' in comparison. Really couldn't be happier

I happened to get a UPA-5 and have been very pleased with it. I agree that people probably didn't take it seriously. I don't think the absence of xlr's had much to do with it.

It was unfortunate for them that they didn't realize that the UPA-5 or 7 was an excellent choice for most 8-ohm speaker systems.

I just picked up a UPA-7 for $450.00 almost brand new. I'm very happy with it. I really think it was a stupid idea for Emotiva to stop making this product.

Rats, I just heard back from Vincent the sales manager, they're completely out of the UPA-7, again. Anyone on here wanna sell me theirs so they can upgrade? PM me or email microbiologycory@gmail.com if you have any info. on where/how I can obtain one.

I'm not selling mine. And, I agree. Very stupid move by Emo. But that's their right if it does not meet with their sales projections.
Emo: Have you thought about adding balanced inputs and about 250 wpc? That's a killer. And I approve this message! ;D
