Emo-Q Gen 2 will not transport to the UMC-1. Lonnie will have more advice on the operation of the EmoQ Gen 2 in the very near future. It uses a different approach to room correction than the original Emo-Q, and is IMO, much improved. You may have noticed we use fully parametric equalizers in the UMC-200, which is a big improvement, and allows for much more accurate correction and frequency response tailoring. The UMC-200 is not a warmed over UMC-1. Other than the the fact that we are using the well developed Cirrus decoders, it is essentially all new. The XMC-1 and the UMC-200 are designed to serve different markets. Both are excellent products in their respective categories. Cheers, Big Dan Hi Dan - Can you speak to where the UMC-500 fits in? I have the UMC-1 in my theater which the XMC-1 will replace. I will order the UMC-200 for my family room, but if the 500 was right around the corner I'd wait.. but maybe the family room doesn't the 500, or does it. ~ If the 500 is a "higher end" of the 200 but doesn't have completely separate features, (not performance but capabilities) no need for family room. Just doing 5.1, but features add value. If the 200 and 500 were in; I'd get the 500, just because... it's a disease, as other folks may agree.

Was wondering if the 4 following features are included on the 200?
1. All channel stereo (5 or 7) 2. Bass enhancement for sub output on non .1 material 3. EQ available on zone 2, 3 outputs 4. Does the remote have learning functionality
Thanks!

When will the product page be up on the main website? I would imagine in the next few days if they are to be available to order 11/21.

Will it decode DSD via HDMI? If not, will it decode PCM @176.4kHz via HDMI?
If none of the above, will the UMC-1 be fixed to put that decoding ability back in so those of us with players that don't do 88.2kHz don't have to suffer on old firmware?
Thanks.

The biggest advantage is probably going to be locking onto an HDMI signal quicker and without dropouts since the video portion is pass thru. mine has never been rock solid with HDMI even after all the upgrades. i would miss the component input for my old xbox 360 but i guess there are ways around that. I would be more curious to know what the umc-500 will have that the 200 wont. The ability to pass 3D will interest many folks also.

Cleatus, I believe in a previous tread here on page 1, M. Dan indicates that this model Will have all the hdmi 4 abilities including 3D. Also on page 2, you could check the direct link to the last Emofest which more or less compared the UMC -200. To the UMC -500 unit Mel ;D

This must be the 'surprise' they alluded to in the podcast on Friday.

Notice the 25% off for life? I've always been a little disappointed that I (and others) bought the UMC-1 at the $699 price, only to see it drop to $499 in a short amount of time. Should I wait for this one to drop too, so I don't have to pay the $200 premium?

Should I wait for this one to drop too, so I don't have to pay the $200 premium? This is true of all electronic gear. Some more than others. For example, I paid $239 for my Samsung Galaxy SII in December last year on a new 2-year plan. I can now get it for $1 on a new 2-year plan. If you think about it the UMC-200 price is a deal and the 25% makes it a bargain, IMHO. Can't say if you should wait or not as that depends on you, how soon you need a processor etc. but rest assured, the price will come down in due course, just like everything else.

It's just been released so I wouldn't look for it's price to drop anytime soon.
