Clearly you work for emotiva and sit on these forums to defend them. If they did the right thing they wouldnt have to pay you to be defensive for them. ROTFLMAO. I actually work for the evil empire. (not audio related though) LMAO... do you work for the Yankees...?

Does the UMC-200 have a direct audio pass through without any audio processing like the UMC-1? If not, that might be a deal killer for me.
thanks.

Well, it doesn't matter whether the input is 2 channel digital or analog, but it's a direct stereo pass through with no audio processing except for the DAC processing. I can hear a slight improvement in the "direct" mode compared to the "stereo" mode on my UMC-1 .

So what if the UMC-200 just sounded better than the UMC-1 without a direct mode, would it still be a deal killer?

A Bump for your original thread from June. Maybe your particular issues will get the exposure they deserve vs just speculating here on the financial plans of a private company. Clearly you work for emotiva and sit on these forums to defend them. If they did the right thing they wouldnt have to pay you to be defensive for them. Bootman doesn't work for Emotiva. Additionally, he is very knowledgeable of the UMC-1 and I have seen many threads on this forum where he was able to assist users in solving their issues. He is a great resource on this product, and I am sure he would have been help you to iron out what was happening, and advise with ways to get you going. He was offering to help you as well.

Bootman is not an Emotiva shill. He is one the most knowledgable posters on the site.

Thanks for your help. I am a complete noob. I am going to buy this barring a terrible review. Nothing wrong with being a "noob". You'll find that many of the folks here will go out of their way to help you along. The UMC-200 is an excellent choice as a place to start. As with any product, you're bound to find someone who hates it, but you need to understand that those are the voices that you're gonna hear the loudest. Do also understand that Emotiva gives you a full 30 day satisfaction guarantee. Try it out in your own home, in your own system, and if your not happy with it, return it for a full refund. We could tell you that it's the greatest thing since sliced bread, but you might think otherwise..... Since you're just starting out, and joining the Emotiva family to boot, please do tell what else you've got going on in your system..... Great post! Other than a few nuts here at the Lounge, doc1963 is an example of the many really fine folks here that make this such a friendly and helpful forum. For a component list of a quintessential bang for the buck system see his signature.

Actually, bootman does not work for Emotiva nor is he paid for advertising, marketing, or defending Emotiva. To suggest that he is a shill without any hard evidence is rather distasteful.Yeah, and I would add downright rude! My profile info is not accurate but I have been here since about 2008. I haven't read all 4000 + of Bootman's posts but probably 3000 or more of them. I can guarantee you he is not an Emotiva employee, a shrill or anything but one of the most knowledgeable, helpful, accurate, fair and balanced (whoops, sorry, I have been watching Bill O'Reilly too often lately) Emotiva Lounge members.

Got an answer from Emotiva. PEQ is adjustable +-10dB per band. Sounds good to me, I ordered today and will compare to my Onkyo PR-SC 886, both connected to a Sherwood AM-9080.

Emotiva has released the UMC 200 and I received an email today. The features look nice and I see this thread evolving to "Impressions" of the UMC 200. I am a dutiful holdout for the XMC but do hope that this new platform earns praise.

...I see this thread evolving to "Impressions" of the UMC 200... Request to mods: That is a good idea, but to avoid thread creep, once the UMC-200 actually ships why not lock this thread since we no longer need a "Sneak Peek" and open a new "Impressions" thread.

I see you can now add the 200 to your cart. So where is the manual?

Wow, the remote control looks very nice! I'm very happy to see that it has on the fly trim level buttons for the surrounds, center and sub. Just like all of the past processors from Emo. Well done. I can't wait to read some user reviews. Especially from UMC-1 owners. If it's stable and if EmoQ works well, then the 200 will definitely be in my HT soon. Well, once I have my wife's new pistol paid off.

You mean that printed thingy that used to ship with the product? ;D Seriously, I am sure that Kieth is still working on the last bits of it before posting the PDF file on the Product Page. There have been several product releases recently and the UMC-200 is still several days away from shipping. I suspect Keith is burning the late night hours to complete the UMC's manual. It should be on the web site very soon.
