It hasn't been a day or two, no units have shipped for 3 weeks!!! How do you come up with 3 weeks? That's when they started shipping to retail customers. I picked mine up 2 weeks and 6 days ago and was the first non-beta tester to have one in house. More shipped that same day and then the following week as well. I think the week after that, too.

Who said it's been a day or two since units shipped? I believe it was going to be an additional day or two to load the V1.1 code

I got my Email on the July 16th placed my order on the 17th I was told I missed the recent batch, but my processor would go in the next batch, in one or two weeks. I have called every week scince, and every time I call I am told 1 to 2 weeks.

Bummer. Maybe the holdup is to load the latest firmware in units sitting on the shelf...

Did the XMC firmware update get released today? If so, can someone point me to the link? I didn't see anything on either the Main Emotiva product page or Xmc-1.com.

Is the new firmware coming today? Dan or Lonnie?

Received email today, delay has to do with an adjustment of the firmware (wasn't finalized on Friday), unit should ship this week, with the new firmware. I would assume the new firmware should be finalized and posted in a day or two, based upon my email. My guess is that someone found a bug.

<sigh> I thought the update process was really simple. For the record, I haven't received this email yet. I guess mine is scheduled for some point after this week.

That wouldn't be the process per se. It sounds like the firmware itself may have a problem. The update process cannot correct firmware code.

If the XMC-1 is stable (and by all accounts it is), and the update process - when it's working - is simple, why not ship out the units to those of us who are waiting, and then provide the firmware update when they've fixed the code? I know, it's all bellyaching and sniveling. Right or wrong, that's what happens when you're annoyed.

Because people bellyache when they purchase a new unit and IMMEDIATELY are told its out of date firmware. I know I was with my BR player. Updating in house is much better for just a few days delay. Most people aren't tech savy/care and just plug it in and go. Flash drives etc. may be more trouble than its worth (for some).

I know, I will repeat, Why Emo didn't shipped since two weeks all the v1.0 already built and waiting on your floor to your waiting customers (me)?
We are easily capable of downloading ourselves the firmware when it's released and install it via a USB key, mostly with the new easy and improved update procedure for the XMC-1. Plus it giving you more time and avoid rushing yourself to work on the firmware update.
Dont get me wrong, this is a positive comments.

I guess you can call V1.0 that doesn't have the added requested feature out of date; It's technically out of date, but not necessary. I can't see how anyone has to be tech savvy to upgrade the firmware, for heaven's sake, if they can plug the charger into their phone, they can plug in a flash drive.

But you'll be surprised. I think upgrading at the factory would be easier. I work partly in tech support. O M G. It's pretty impressive how hard it is for people! "How do I do this?!" Press the only button on the screen and follow the prompts. "Uhhh okay. Wait now what do I do?" "Press the only button the screen and follow the prompts" "Okay now what?" "It's asking you if you want to print. Yes or no." "What do I do?" "Press yes" "okay. Now what?" "Press okay, the only button on the screen."

If that's the case, we might as well wait for Dirac to be released before shipping any units. I've waited almost 3 weeks since I placed my order - might as well wait another 4 for Dirac... (I say that tongue in cheek - please don't make me wait another 4 weeks, Emo!)

Maybe Emo learned "under promise, over deliver" and in fact Dirac is done. They're holding shipments to stuff calibration mikes into the boxes.
