I must say the update process could not be smoother. Very well written and executes exactly as stated. The issue I was having on the triggers for my amps was fixed and happened when I was working on the Subwoofer settings and I could not get them back to their former self. My inputs are just fine. It is really great to see the evolution of Emotiva occurring with such great continuous improvement from one product to the next. I have commented before on this but this product is going to be a very fun ride for us all!

Perhaps a minor point, but I'll add it in case anyone experiences a similar effect after the firmware update. Following the update, the first thing I did was pipe CDs into the rest of the house over Zone 2. Eventually shut everything down and fired the system up a few hours later for a friend's trip to Norway slide shows.
The XMC-1 booted and then would not respond reliably to volume changes. The menu button on the box was also unresponsive. I did a rear switch power off/on and everything returned to normal. Been fine ever since.
So, if you have a similar issue following the update, a cold boot looks to be in order.

Although not specifically indicated by Emotiva, with something like firmware updates, I usually do a cold-boot as a matter of course. Same for the laptop and other devices that require an update. After all these devices are computers at heart and as such their internal states could not be reliably guaranteed after a firmware update. A cold boot should be SOP IMHO.

Just did the update every thing work great no issues all setting stayed as they were, the hardest part was figuring out how to use this new windows 8 laptop but that wasn't to hard ether
