I have been waiting for a replacement for the UPA line as I am going to need a 7 channel amp to go with my UPA-500 for my upgrade to ATMOS. What has been announced here hardly qualifies as a replacement for the series. Time for me to say goodbye to Emotiva and hello to Outlaw.

I prefer the boat anchor amps. On a personal note, I think my UPA-1's blow my Outlaw amps out of the water....not even in the same league. The Outlaws serve their purpose but overall I would never look to Outlaw after my experience.

Dark RangerGood catch! But as noted...don't think class D as a second class citizen anymore. I got rid of my XPA-2 with class D monoblocks. Much smoother/less harsh sound. Same for you garbulkyMark I would never underestimate hypex ncore monoblocks!

Emotiva no longer has one. The cheapest option is now $1599.

I was tempted today by a UPA-5 amp they had listed for only $289 or best. It sold in a couple hours. To pair that UPA-5 with a UPA-2 which go pretty cheap, would still be pretty affordable and able to kick some serious a$$! Since it comes with a warranty you really can't beat it.

No one outside Emotiva knows for sure if they will or will not release amps with more than 2 channels. Additionally, at only 1 RU in height (and depending on the cost) you could stack 5 monoblocks for not much more money than a single 5 channel A/B amp. Correct me if I'm wrong, but you may not even need much (if any) in terms of ventilation space between the units either. You can fit two of the upcoming class D monoblocks in less space than a current XPA-200 (which was the same size as the UPA line) I'd take the monoblocks any day, personally. Then again, I have had A LOT of the kool-aid from Novisnick

I would be very surprised if they don't release at least one or two multichannel u-series replacements...at least 5-channel and one other.

Looking for a lower priced 7 channel amp. However, I would also like it to match my XMC-1 design. It's annoying that the black face plates on my XPA-5 and UPA-500 don't match my XMC-1 very well. Hoping the new line of amps will the design better. I'm temped to get a used UPA-700, replace the gen 1 trim with gen 2, and just deal with it
