Seriously novisnick? Emotiva offered the Fusion 8100 receiver with a conservative 65 watts across the board with most of the important goodies for under $700. You don't think Emotiva is capable of putting together a similar piece with 100 wpc into a 4RU shell? Emotiva is rumored to be going to Class D amps, they are even more cost efficient to produce higher power. Why would $1500 not put something like that on the table?... Accessories4less offers a dozen or so stacked receivers by all of the aforementioned names for less than this $1500 price point. Emotiva usually undersells the competition especially when it comes to amps, I see this right in their wheelhouse. I love ya Nick but sometimes you take such a defensive stance on behalf of Emotiva.... Love you to my friend,,,,but,,,,,,,,so the short lived Fusion has the superior sound that most demand? XPA-s are now 100 wpc? You did say a XPA-7, which is 200 wpc @ $1,429.10 on sale now. That's right at your $1,500.00 price point. And you want what else? Come on buddy, cases D won't get you there,,,,,,yet. Class D amps have the THD of class A/B amps now,,,,,or even in the very near future? now for the cost analysis of a pre/pro , oops, "receiver" I'm so sorry, I do love the idea but for the high standard that most of us would require, we need more money. To be honest I am very happy with my Sherbourn SR-120's so I doubt after owning four of them I would have anywhere to go with any additional receivers....however, you were taking the XPA-7 literally. That was why I cut the power rating in half for one of those to 100 wpc across the board. Cut power in half, cut the price in half....see where I'm going! I am sure that Emotiva could package nicely a 100 wpc x 5 (maybe 7) amp system coupled with an up to date pre/pro housed in a single 3RU or 4RU box that could entertain the masses, while coming in at or under the $1500 price point. Since you touched on it...the Fusion, while discontinued sells used on Ebay for more than it sold new in many cases, and from what I have seen most owners will not part with them. Must have been a hit with somebody. I am not saying the proposed receiver would offer Atmos, Dirac or that stuff but with an aggressive surround receiver I think Emotiva would find a new slew of fans.

I would like a distributed audio amplifier. Maybe two offerings like a 8 channel and a 16 channel version.
An Emotiva version of a furman would be pretty awesome.
A headphone amp with integrated media application controllable by a smart device (think oppo media controller) with built in amplification to drive a pair of stereo speakers.
They should also bring back plasma tvs. Hehehehe

How about anything? This place has become extremely boring with no new products ( that interest me) in years and I'm losing interest in Emotiva. NAD is very interesting. Cutting edge products, world class sound, fabulous build quality. I might have to go over to the dark side... In fact I probably am... Why can't Emotiva adopt a business model like this? Just my opinion.... nadelectronics.com/homeBe mindful that some will argue Emotiva's business model is flawless....

Even though I do not use an active preamp anymore I would like Emo to build a dedicated two channel preamp, because let's face it, two channel rules....Just gotta say it...

I would like the next firmware version of the XMC-1 to display the message "FACE IT - TWO CHANNEL RULES" when the mode is switched to stereo or direct 2.0. (oh, and in a color that matches the rest of the lighting)

Cutting edge products, world class sound, fabulous build quality. I might have to go over to the dark side... In fact I probably am... Why can't Emotiva adopt a business model like this? Just my opinion.... nadelectronics.com/homeI find things have gotten boring as well but I attribute that to a couple of reasons: One, there's really no new products I am anticipating and I'm not looking to build up my system. Two, just from having been on the Lounge over 6 years now, it is pretty much the same subjects that get rehashed - the same initial posts but by different OP's, and then the same responses. So I think I've become jaded. I still am a big fan of Emo, though. As for new products - there have been lots of potential products announced by Dan. Turntables, more speakers, tube stuff, subs, etc., but for whatever reason it seems many of these were shelved or else are still in development. Dan has built a successful company, the image of which in my mind is making excellent and affordable products. I'm sure he has considered various models, such as NAD that you mentioned, but one has to consider the company image as well as the resources that are available to the company for product development. Going the NAD or McIntosh route would change the "affordable" part of their image and change who they were competing with. Also, expanding the product line brings them into competition with other more established companies and I'm not really sure Emo could do it any better than the existing ones do it now. For example, I don't care who comes out with a Blu Ray player, I'm sticking with Oppo. Similarly, I don't care who comes out with headphone amps, I'm buying Schiit. (haha, that sounded pretty funny) What I'm trying to say is I believe Dan and Cathy have carefully considered the Emo business model and the many alternatives, and we're seeing the course they decided on. It would be nice to see more products but then you don't want to bite more than you can chew.

I agree with monkumonku, biting more than you can chew is death sentence for a business. I think Dan and co have to put priorities on their products even if means boredness to most of us. I'm so bored right now with emo that i had to buy the big ego, just to keep the game on, lol

Lol you guys have no clue how good it is right nw! Emotiva used to have a much more limited product selection and stayed that way for a looong time! Remember when the most exciting thing coming out was the XDA-2 not long ago? This is really Emotiva's golden age with really kick a** new products! DC-1, XPA-1 gen 2 (60 watts class A !), XSP-1 (knock it out of the park!) and XPA-1 L, the ERC-3, XMC-1, Stealth 8's. etc. All excellent stuff imo.

Wouldn't that be a XSP-1? Nope. The XSP-1 has bass management and HT features. Well, yes, the XSP-1 is a stereo preamplifier with bass management, but to use it as I want, I also have to add: An ethernet over AC modem An Apple Airport Express to provide living room wi-fi An Oppo BDP-105 to provide DAC services At least two channels of power amplification A computer running music server software An external hard drive, holding my music library files An Apple iPad with the control software and graphical interface for the music server Almost all of these "extras" could be in a single, stereo integrated amplifier & I could do away with a BUNCH of clutter. Just sayin'... Boomzilla

I've said this before - maybe even something in black that docks with the Stealth series speakers to maintain aesthetic consistency.
