I realize I am quite late to the party but, I have had great luck with my Sony STR DA 5600ES. Andrew Robinson just happened to review something that I already owned... He thought it was one of the best ever.

I have to agree with a few other members , H/K or Marantz , new for the money you cant go wrong, they will have everything you want and will need on the near future.....until you get the bug....lol

Ended up with the denon x4200. So far it sounds really good!

Ended up with the denon x4200. So far it sounds really good! But not as good as an all Emotiva setup could sound..lol.. Glad you found something that serves your purpose. I wish. But I don't like hiss and buzz. J/k. But I may get a xpa2 if I find them cheap again
