When the Atmos board or RMC-1 are available I will upgrade, I’m not in a huge hurry though

I have Atmos (had it for almost four years) via my SR7009. I built the house right as Atmos was coming out so I built the theater room with the Atmos speakers in place.I want to go 4K but the 7009 does not support it. I am waiting for the RMC-1 to upgrade. I will upgrade to a 4K projector at that time.

No plans for Atmos in my current house. Will go to it when I retire and move into a brand new house. At least that’s the plan.

7.2.4 for about four years now. Will go to 7.1.6 if Emotiva brings out the RMC-1 before I die.

My theater is currently non functional because of a leaking dishwasher raining on the parade. I will install Atmos speakers during the reconstruction. My UMC-200 moved to the living room so I need a processor too. I am expecting Emotiva to have a processor for me about the time I am done with construction.

Right now I don't have any plans for an Atmos system. This is mostly due to my living room isn't conducive to it. If I had a different layout or dedicated room I would definitely be going for an 11 channel Atmos system.

I'm thinking about it but no plans this very minute. Just moved again for the job and am currently renting house. Pretty sure the nice lady we are renting from would not appreciate holes in her ceiling. When we buy something next year, I'll get more serious about it. As in, I'm going to look for a house that has a media-type room for HT and 2-channel glory.

Object based audio will never be a MAINSTREAM approach in the home.....Too complicated for the average user. Too expensive for the average user. The average user simply doesn't care or even think about this stuff. When is the last time you went to a party with REAL friends and talked about Atmos ??(give me a break!!)
It's here to stay, I give you that. There always will be a percentage of folks who go for it. I do like the personalized Idea of doing it with headphones and a motion sensor seat for a personal, amusement park ride at home, that could be fun, and not so hard to achieve.

Bill I would say that 5.1 will be mainstream for a long time. Almost any home built with a surround sound option will be set up for 5.1.

No Atmos plans for me yet. I'm waiting to see how it all shakes out and gets a bit more mature from a home user POV.

I'm more surprised by how many models they make. Onkyo is ridiculous. But wow, why do they make so many models? They must have every $25 price point covered.
