Erm…. this is Emotiva….. Waiting for the release of an XMC-2 mark 2 with HDMI 2.1 seems a rather disappointing and over optimistic purgatory to put yourself through! It’s also highly greedy and spoiled. “Emotiva is offering a trade-in on our processors to upgrade to the new model for next to nothing.” “Yeah, but those $ &(&/));s will probably end that offer before they release the next-next model, jerks.” 🤷🏻♂️🤦🏻♂️🤦🏻♂️🤦🏻♂️

Emotiva has always dealt very fairly with me, to the point of being generous.
I'm very, very happy with my XMC-1. The new processors promise an upgraded surround sound upgrade that I don't have speakers for and have no plans to ever upgrade to. Also, I don't use any room correction, so all of that is moot. Add on to that an upgrade to the video resolution that I don't have a display for, and I don't see any need for, and you can see my reticence in spending any money on upgrading.
Now, is my unit getting older with everyday of use? Yes. Could my needs or wants change in the future? Sure. When I am finally ready to replace or upgrade, who knows what will be available. Until then I'm watching with interest as my favorite brand ventures chest deep into their newest foray.

Just checked the XMC-2 product page. It's order-able, but the Trade-In Program is delayed till October.
From the product page: "We're currently not accepting XMC-1 trade-ins for XMC-2 orders at this time. We'll have an official announcement regarding trade-in orders in October. We appreciate your patience as we ramp up production, and prepare for the trade-in process."
Frankly, I'm not in a hurry, but . . . .

Crappy news, I have an XMC-1 sitting on the US side of the border waiting to go to Franklin as I figured at launch we who signed up on the waiting list regardless of trade in or not were good to go, the company will hold stuff for about 2 months(It's been there 4 weeks) so I was hoping to ship it from there as now I have to have my buddy bring it back and I will have to pay the 12% in taxes and it's gonna be more to ship it from my place in Canada compared to what I was going to do was ship it from within the US Chad

Without a trade in, but presumably with UFL or 40% card, and of course good old money.

Just noticed it's $2000 off the RMC-1 now on your XMC-1 trade in, that a very good deal, also i note there is no requirement for the V3 board either.

XMC-2 doesn't have Dirac? When it will be available?
XMC-1 has it and Xmc2 will downgrade the sound :-(

Very disappointed in the trade in being delayed. Be patient, it's a business decision no doubt. They get more revenue from an outright sale than a trade in, so if they have limited capacity they choose correspondingly.

I would think/guess they are close to ramping up production so the supply will probably be limited at the beginning, and flooding them with trade-in XMC-1's just wouldn't be feasible. Also what rbk123 said.

I see you can get on a trade in list for the not yet released RMC-1L though, it would have been nice if the XMC-2 launch was allowed for both outright purchases and trade in Chad

You know, I really wish the front of Emotiva’s building faced east, instead of northwest. That way, when my new processor leaves the building out the back loading dock, it would get some of that golden hour sunset light.
Am I doing this right? I’m just grasping at something to complain about. Seems to be the thing to do around here.
I’d complain about them on AVS, too, except I actually own their products, which disqualifies me from the owner threads over there.

Also what rbk123 said. Yes, when the shoe is on the other foot, like I sold my XMC1 here a little over a year ago...it made it nice to call in and place the order today. 😊 But if I had my XMC1, while I’d be livid, I’d still have a prepro to tide me over. Desperation was slowly setting in lol

But your new processor will leave at the wrong time of day to get that beautiful golden aura... I think you should just go pick it up that way you can hold it above your head, spinning it like a new York pie and it can get equal light on all sides. Simple enough, problem solved.
