Hey, roadrunner, thanks for the reply. Actually, Dan's verbal instructions were to "just play the disc" he sent. I put in it, it starts (no 2-3 second delay), then it plays continuously (the music is heavily distorted electric bass and guitar(s)--serious head banger rock) as track 1, then track 2, then track 3, etc, through track 6 (it's about half an hour in total). Then the display reads 'stop.' And that's it. Nothing like the instructions for performing the upgrade you posted. The disc is hand-labeled as "Losing Stars." Very curious, eh? Thanks again. (maybe they didn't send the right disc?) Wow. That doesn't sound like the disc you received is even a close relative to the real update disc. It sounds like you got a copy of someone's private collection. You need to get on the phone ASAP and let Emotiva know they sent you the wrong disc. You will not hear any music playing on the real thing and it is no where near 30 minutes in length. No wonder you still have the same problem. LOL At least the disc was accurately labeled... LOSING Stars. ;D

Yeah, it didn't seem like the real deal, but the popcorn was good! I was going to call EMO tomorrow anyway. Thanks, roadrunner.

I updated the firmware per instruction and I though it fix the problem. However, I still missing the first couple seconds. I dunno why. Is there a way to check the firmware version? Any suggestion? Thanks all... I got the fix disc from Dann and it didn't work either. However, instead of missing like the first 2 or 3 seconds of the first track, now it just misses about the first second. So it did improve things but not completely. That's not a big deal for me, but I thought I'd mention it just so people don't think you are crazy. ;D

So is there something that someone knows that we don't and that we should?
Or is it included with the CD player's instruction manual?
* In regards to the clipping issue of the ERC-1.
