I have the two files installed and complete (in the UMC) however, when I power down the UMC then restart it, it goes through the writing and verifying process all over again. The UMC file is installed and complete according to the display and the lights are blue. Shutting the unit off and then powering up again just re-writes the UMC file and verifies.

The last one installed was the DSP file, that causes the "verifying" message, you'll need to flash in the main code again before it will come up normally I think.

Good morning,
I checked my version today and it stated W7.04.00.07, is this the latest version or is there a newer one? If there is a newer one where can i find it? I looked through most of the posts in the threads in this processor area and cant seem to find a list of firmware updates and where to download them. If anyone could please point me in the right direction I would appreciate it.
Thanks, Chris

Once the UMC's are no longer for sale, I would assume they will completely get rid of the page similar to the other retired products. The resources page will probably the only reference to them at a later point.

Did my first re-install of 7.4.19 today seeing that the UMC-1 was previously owned and wanted to see if it would clear up a few glitches. I first did a factory reset and then followed the on-line instructions from the PDF. Using my Lenovo Think-Pad/Win 7 Pro., found the install pretty straight forward,no problems. So far the re-install has cleaned up a few oddities but not all which for now I attribute to Apple TV2. No audio delays when FF/FR or changing chapters on Blu-rays or Netflix/ATV2 , and have yet to recreate a distortion problem I had earlier. emotivalounge.proboards.com/index.cgi?board=preamps&action=display&thread=23968Robert

Since a friend of mine who also owns an UMC-1 mentioned that the newest firmware makes it even better, i also wanted to run the newest firmware. Everything seemed to go wel until i was installing the firmware to the umc-1. In the Emotiva firmware update screen i had about 4 times an "overtime" error message before the bar hit 100%. Then i tried a shorter printer cable and everything went fine but when reaching for the 3rd and last time 100%, i had still an overtime message on that very last moment. I ignored the overtime message and went ahead and the umc-1 was loading as it should. I hope the firmware update succeeded but i'm not sure. At the moment i can't use/test my emotiva to see if everything is fine as it isn't hooked up to speakers. I moved house that's why the umc-1 isn't hooked up just yet. I only did get it out of it's box sine i moved house to do the update for later use. Can anyone tell me the update should be ok? I hit 3 times 100% and at the very last moment it had the overtime message...

I think the docs mention that you may see an error in one of the sections and to ignore it (!).
If it was with the front panel code, as long as the remote is working you are probably fine.

Went thru the complete update process without any errors. Everything seemed to work flawlessly. I went and reconfigured all my settings, then out of curiousity I checked the firmware version on the front panel and it shows 7.4.14! What the heck did i do wrong?

If the process went smoothly then verify that you're using the correct upgrade version files! If there's any doubt, you'd best re-download the latest and reflash.

You can find the latest version (7.4.19) here on the right-hand side.

The latest ZIP package update contains the DSP Flash code and the .19 firmware. I recommend updating the UMC-1 with both of these files since you're coming from an older version.
What is the third file you're referring to?
BTW, make sure you have the latest AVR Installer version on your computer. If you need to update from an older version, follow the instructions outlined in the installation PDF (also available on the Resources page). It is important that you remove the old version before installing the new.

I have another problem. I need to uninstall the installer to add the latest version, and when I downloaded winrar originally it somehow removed about 70% of my programs from the add/remove programs list! Winrar tried to sell me a bunch of crap and attacked my computer.

The 3 files I was referring to are: the DSP flash, the UMC1 decoder, & the UMC1F340.
