I was able to uninstall it by finding the unwise .exe file. Winrar sucks

Starting over... I see the new install only has 2 files. The other one was for the old remote issue, I think. Wish me luck!

Got the overtime error, so used the alt method, and it worked flawlessly! Yay! I must give credit to my wonderful wife for doing this. She is an IT security expert for the Treasury Dept, so I defer to her on most matters pc related. And btw, she was not at all impressed with the firmware update process.

^ Congrats. Presumably you verified the version after the update, right? (just sayin;)

Ran EmoQ and when I switch between man1 & none, I don't hear any difference. I used to be able to easily hear the diff (primarily ran it without any EQ). Do I have to change inputs for it to take effect now?

Ok, it now seems to sound different. And I still prefer without. I've also gone back to my orig crossover settings. Sounds really good, clarity has improved some. I did leave the new calculated speaker distances, and the levels were pretty close to what I was seeing using my SPL meter. I think we're good to go!

I'm not a fan of WinRar either. Instead use 7-zip. It is free and understands .rar files. This is the best compression utility I've seen so far.

To check the current firmware level of your UMC-1, on your remote, push Mute, then Status, then Vol+ (Volume Up). The firmware level will display on the LCD panel on the front of the UMC-1.

Thanks for the info hemster. I tried it and it does say 7.04.00.19. This means the update was a succes.

Just an aside here about WinRAR..... I've personally been using WinRAR for at least fifteen years, and always install it on every new PC I set up... and I've NEVER seen it do anything odd or malicious like that. At most an unregistered shareware copy might pester you to register it. Did you get your copy from a legitimate source (either a reputable download site or www.rarlabs.com, where it originates)? If so, then it sounds like you have picked up some other sort of malware (or have something else bad going on). I have another problem. I need to uninstall the installer to add the latest version, and when I downloaded winrar originally it somehow removed about 70% of my programs from the add/remove programs list! Winrar tried to sell me a bunch of crap and attacked my computer.

UMC-1 Firmware Upgrade I moved last year and am resetting up all my audio gear. Noticed that the Firmware version is W7.02.00.00. THis seems a bit old and I am searching to see if the files are still available to upgrade to the latest Upgrade, which is W7.04.00.00.
I would like to have the latest firmware if possible.
