Hey guys, I dont own a UMC-1, but just wanted to chime in with something that may help with Win7 32&64 install and execution issues. Have you guys turned off UAC? (User Account Control). I found this wee service caused me all sorts of issues in the past ...even as an administrator...issues similar to those being experienced with the AVR loader install and execution issues on this thread. tip: TURN OFF 'UAC' in Windows 7.. hope this helps someone ...I'm feeling your pain It would be very helpful if you explain HOW to disable the UAC in windows 7. Thanks for the heads up. Many users will have no idea how to turn off this function so your help will be appreciated. Thanks again.

Easiest way to disable UAC, is by typing 'UAC' in the serach field which appears when you hit the 'Start' button. And click 'Change User Account Control settings'... Other way to get there is: Control Panel --> User Accounts and Family Safety -->User Accounts --> Change User Account Control settings choice

I can't get my Windows 7 computer to recognize it. I've tried SO MUCH. I've tried uninstalling, reinstalling, several times. I've done all that. NOTHING IS WORKING. The computer just says "Unknown Device" and that it failed to successfully install the device.
How do I fix this? I need help!

Turns out I'm meeting up with someone that I met on one of the forums at a Starbucks who said he'll help me with the firmware update in Starbucks. Some very nice people on the forums. ;D

Any word on getting the code fixed so that the USP-1 doesn't control the UMC-1? I updated my Harmony remote to learn the new codes from the metal remote so that it doesn't overlap with the USP-1, but the vice versa still takes place - the USP-1 remote still affects the UMC-1.
I'm wondering if we are going to have an update to fix this soon.

I got the update done successfully. However, Emotiva told me that it'd get rid of my problem. I have a Momitsu BDP-899 Blu-Ray player and the remote for the Blu-Ray player keeps controlling the UMC-1, so when I press UP on the Blu-Ray remote, the UMC-1 changes inputs. The new metal remote for the UMC-1 doesn't control the Blu-Ray player and they said that it would fix my problem having the update. It didn't fix it.... I might have to sell my Blu-Ray player and buy a new one...

There is something very wrong with the way Emotiva tests....the last beta had a "oops, some emoq microphone code missed the update" so we had the ambient fault issue....this one has .14 to fix a problem but it doesn't fix the problem. Who tested it? Who authorized it's release?' This just doesn't build confidence.... Hopefully, they will learn from this and change the way they test things before sending them out.

Sometimes your posts really surprise me Lonnie....you are the CTO of the company.....I would think you'd be a little more sincere rather than snippy.
What did happen??? Did you test and the wrong version got out...or didn't you (by you I mean Emotiva HQ) test at all.
I'm not dissing Emotiva...but you have to admit, this doesn't play well when you're trying to give a face of quality and thorough testing....,

So he can't make a mistake, or he can't admit it when he does? Seems to me neither will satisfy some people...

OK I will try to be as professional and sincere as I can. I goofed, I am sorry, I apologize to everyone for my mistake. It was an honest mistake, I have been distracted lately with so many projects in the hopper. I will endevour to do a better job in the future to prevent these things from happening and reduce the confusion out there. There are two different front panel codes. The front panel code F340 has both plastic and metal remote codes in it and the new front panel code which I forgot to have uploaded and included in the instructions has only the metal remote codes in it. Rachel and I have been trying to find a minute to update the mian site and upload the other front panel code, but with everything going on we were not able to get it done. I am leaving for the factory tomorrow, but will follow up with Rachel when she returns the the office on Wednesday and see that it is taken care in my absence. To all our customers for whom this has caused distress, I do sincerely apologize. We will get this corrected. Lonnie
