So comon guys... where's the spec updates and detailed photos of the XSP-1 from Emofest!?!? ...I've been hangn out waiting for all the posts to hit... but nothing... sniff sniff  So, here's the deal ...it's almost bedtime for me, but you Americans will all be waking up soon. That gives you a good 8 hours to get yer A's into G, and get some info and photos posted before I wake up. I expect to get up in the morning, make myself some toast and be greated with super-enthusiastic posts about the XSP-1 while sipping my coffee.... Yoy guys got to go to Emofest... I did'nt ...so I think it only fair.... Deal!? ... or Did Lonnie get all buffed up, and threaten to bash ya if you leaked info? ;D |

I'm thinking , and I don't doubt, some Emofest attendees could have hangovers this morning...
Maybe we will here something from a designated driver....

yes please, I'm chomping at the bit for info also. So far Emofest seems like it was fun. I wanted to go but I was on call for work this weekend. I'm really going to try to make it next year if they have it. My main questions about the XSP-1 are:
1) Are the tone controls adjustable via the remote
2) Price
3) When will it be available

What was the XDA delay? Last I had heard was availability in October. Has this changed?

Big Dan told me yesterday, the XDA-1 would be available in about a month. That I remember for sure, and I'm pretty sure he said the XMC-1 would be around January/February. But the most awesome news was if you purchased a UMC-1 now, you could get 40% off the XMC-1. That's a heck of a deal if you happen to need two pre-pro's and even if not, you could sell your UMC-1 for $400 less than what you paid and still come out even. Pretty sweet deal.

I didn't see a remote laying around for the XSP-1, but it was stated that the suggested price was going to be $799.

Sounds like the XDA and XSP will have the same output stages so there will be no sound "degradation" like there is with the XDA/USP combo. |

Sorry Kiwi...I didn't take many notes on that item, but here's a couple points I vaguely recall:
- balanced design (which you probably already knew)
- has phono stage...if I recall correctly, it has adjustable impedance as well as MM/MC choice
- has "trims" for bass/treble. If I recall correctly, Vince said that they could be used to tweak the bass/treble. This would be different than tone controls in that tone controls most people use to make big/wide adjustments. The trims are tweaks...not big swings.
Hopefully, I recalled correctly, but as noted elsewhere - I had a few glasses of merlot and was feeling very mellow.
