So... XSP-1 ...I want one ;D Super excited about the possibility of finally being able to set both LP and HP crossovers for my fronts and subs (I want two+). What would be cool is if the HT-input could/does/can? bypass the crossover circuits of the XSP-1, so I could have 80Hz xover in the Marantz for movies, and 60Hz for the 2-channel inputs... Anyone know if this is possible? Yes HT bypass should skip over the crossovers for both the speakers and the sub(s).. This is the way it works on the USP-1 already.. Therfore you can have two separate crossovers; one from your processor AVR and the other from the XSP-1. Cheers, Stuart

Hey,where in Wellington are you.I grew up in Miramar, and Ngaio Yo Oregon Kiwi, I did PM ya with some blab, but seeing as this thread seems to have taken it's course I guess we can spam it now :-) I'm in Aotea, it's a new suburb between Porirua and Whitby... nice wee family suburbia and a few oldies... neighbours actually talk to each other which is a novel departure from the old flatting days, and is kinda handy when you decide to crank yer UPA-1's at 1am in the morning... My kids are great sleepers :-) I used tolive in Ngaio too (Heke street), flatting with my best mate about 10 years ago ...Good times had there, female flattie whom provided excellent eye candy, and that extremely polite blond woman whom lived in the flat downstairs and would bake under her sunbed with the curtains wide open.... I was in my early 20's back then, hence the calibre of memories I've retanied from such days ;D Not sure what ya mean about the kazzo rack thing? I'm struggling to decode yer sentence... no offence... can you explain more? So what made ya move to Oregon? choice

I didn't see a remote laying around for the XSP-1, but it was stated that the suggested price was going to be $799.

Gidday kiwi, Kiwi, sorry I missed your post.I am still learning this thing here. Kazoo is a member here.Somewhere...not sure how to find him,but if you look around,he had a setup of emo gear. You know the little aluminum trim pieces on the sides of the amps, pre's etc?,well Kazoo made 'aftermarket' pieces out of fancy wood that go with the amps etc...some guy had the pics posted.I had to format my drive,so lost all my saved pages..If I find them again,I will let you know. I grew up in Ngaio in the 60's-70's. Moved to the USA in 92,married my penpal. Divorced now, remarried to Rachelle from Louisianna I remember 'heke' street, but a little fuzzy where it is now?Is it near the old Library? Hey./...my email is tom_rachelle@yahoo.com Drop me a line ok.

Last night I had a dream that the XSP-1 was put up for preorder on the website, and when I woke up I realised it wasn't. Am I going insane?

Good things come to those who wait...and wait...And now for something completely different - XDA-1. OH! Waiting for that, too! And the XMC-1...hmmm, do I detect a pattern?
Joel: You're off in the Matrix! They keep you anxious as anxiety generates more energy....
I saw the Emotiva-Pro pricing and stroked out...must have been a dream.

I too have been waiting and having a working model at the 'fest was a a sign of imminent release, I thought to myself. Or at least a sign of the pre-order list coming very soon, but now I wonder if I could stand it being on such a list and waiting week after week with no satisfaction. Curse that instant gratification tendency I have!
Oh well, I guess it'll happen when it happens.

What seems more and more obvious is that Emotiva is not in charge of releasing new products such as the XSP-1 and the XDA-1. So they are only given estimates by Tonewinner as to when such products will come to market. Emotiva is probably out of the loop. So the fewer promises they make, the better as far as I'm concerned.
I've had the money cash in hand for a while now to buy this new pre-amp but I bet it doesn't get released until after Christmas. As to a preorder list, how do those of you feel about being on the one started at Emofest now?

At the end of the day 20% is 20%, but when would it be reasonable to expect shipment? If you have to wait 4 months, for instance, it doesn't seem like such a great deal because you've been waiting to upgrade, waiting to see if you'll get that improvement in sound, perhaps to then replace something else too.
At this point I'd pay full price plus 20% to get it now.

At this point I'd pay full price plus 20% to get it now. I'm perfectly happy to wait as I already have an UMC-1 for my analog needs. OTH, I can completely understand how others might be really eager to get the XSP-1. For, me, I'd say it's still reasonable to wait. Then again, I'm hoping they start shipping at the end of October or beginning of November.

Is it official that the XSP-1 will not have a headphone out?
I would prefer the XSP-1 over the USP-1 for the XLR main outs, selectable 12/24db LP, and the digital volume control... but I must have a headphone out!

I plan on getting the XSP 1, however, I am also in need of a headphone out. I don't know if Emotiva can change it now but maybe if enough people are in the same situation, we will get lucky.

Sorry gents, but I think it's too late in the game for that. A prototype was being shown off at Emofest a month ago, and rumor has it we are getting close to a pre-order reservation list. My guess is about a month or so to get your name on the list.
At least you could get a headphone amplifier, couldn't you?
