Has the XDA-1 shipped yet?

My estimated Delivery is DEC 7th... Oh cruel, cruel fate!

Though, Fedex always seems to get to me long before the ETA... I suppose it makes sense considering Jamaica is a half hour flight from Florida (and there are several flights daily)

Just a reminder, don't forget to turn the Volume down if using it as a Pre. When I switched from using it as a DAC only to going direct to the amps, I almost forgot myself. Although it sounded better direct, I have now went back to running it through the USP-1 for now as I need the bass management and just discovered my current DirecTV box doesn't have a digital out. :-(

My bet is you will open it as soon as it comes in, it will drive you crazy not to ! It would me.

When my ERC-1 arrives Thursday I am going to open it ! Hook that baby up and do some listening. You should do the same.

Curious as to what you are going to hook your XDA-1 up with ?

Same here - Friday the 3rd!!! Actually Janna was good enough to change the shipping address to my office instead of my house. Weird, that made the scheduled delivery date Friday instead of Monday even though my office is just about 17 miles from my house (and further from Tennessee, I might add).

I plan on connecting the ERC-1 digital coax output to the XDA-1, and then running it through the USP-1, and then connecting the ERC-1 analog outputs to the USP-1, then doing an A/B comparison between the two to see if deaf me can hear a difference.

(1) balanced cables to XPA-3 for straight 2.0 audio, and
(2) rca's to Denon 989 for Pure Direct 2.2 (2 subs) to XPA-3.
(Speakers Axiom M-80's)

Will be doing A/B comparisons between the two.

Which do you guys predict will produce better audio?

How old is that box? I can't ever think of a satellite reviver I have had that didn't have digital out.

This is going to depend on how well your mains produce low end and how much bass you prefer. I prefer just my mains for listening

This is going to depend on how well your mains produce low end and how much bass you prefer. I prefer just my mains for listening

My Polks suck in the bass department so, I need the subs. I wish I could listen direct without, the subs even though my speakers are supposedly full range towers. Possibly , I just like alot of bass! ;D Will have to see maybe my RPA 2 just doesn't have enough to get the RTi 10s going.

Yes. Use the volume control on your pre-amp.

I had Sony and an RCA direct TV box back in 1997...they all had digital outputs.
