From what I have seen many users will be hooking the XDA up to their BD or CD player. That is a straightforward connection.
I'd specifically like to hear from those who will be using it connected to a personal computer (using Foobar) or other type of media storage device setup.
I'm most interested in: a. ease of setup b. whether it finds the right driver c. most importantly if it finds a driver to support 24/192 on a windows based system (since most/all other DACs are reported to use proprietary drivers.)
Of course verifying the 192khz may be an issue .........

As soon as I get mine Friday, I'll be trying both my PC and iPad.
On the PC I've got all sample rates/ depths.

Mine is scheduled to arrive tomorrow and I just happen to have the day off. I use foobar and FLAC for all my listening (other than vinyl) so I will confirm some things as soon as I can. I will have to see about finding some 24/192 files to verify that info.

I'm buying the XDA-1 almost exclusively for music stored on my PC. Due to the so-so quality of USB I purchased an M2Tech Hiface USB interface that's supposed to handle 24/192 via USB. I also use Foobar with kernel streaming and FLAC files. Hopefully my XDA-1 will be delivered within the next few days so I can give you a review. Fun stuff!!!

Just got my XDA-1. I connected it to one of my PC's running XP and it found the driver with no issues at all and that particular PC is NOT connected to the internet. It also is working with foobar2000 and ASIO4ALL.

Good news, I am sure there will be a lot of users looking for a great sounding DAC to use with music servers/PCs/Macs/HTPCs/etc.. This will be a great item for even the non-audiophiles of the world. It will add convenience AND great sound quality to their systems.

If so, was was the driver name? I assume that the USB driver found was the one installed with your other DAC... yes? Let us know how the two DACs compare. Enjoy!!!

When I installed it the only thing stated was that I had new hardware and it found a driver. It seems to be a generic driver for USB audio device from what I can tell.

Do you need to use Foobar to hook your PC into the XDA-1? Will itunes, Media Monkey (my fave), or Windows Media Player work as well?

Any confirmation that the driver that is automatically loaded during the install handles anything higher than 16/44?

I can confirm that on OS X, it does not support anything more than 16/48 with default loading drivers. I will test on Windows 7 x64 sometime Saturday.

16/48 seems to be the limit for USB audio on Mac OS X. Optical out will of course yield up to 24/96 on most recent hardware if enabled via MIDI setup.

I was under the impression that the 16/48 limitation was for AirPlay (via Airport Express), but it seems like that's not the case. Mine is arriving today and I want to get ready to play!

Isn't 16/48 the limitation for USB in general - hence the need for a third party driver? I found high res flac samples at thie following link for those willing and able to test who may not have any material: www.2l.no/hires/index.htmlEDIT: I keep finding conflicting information about this. Some site say that it should be possible with the standard driver if the DAC can handle it. Others say no, 16/48 or 24/96 max.

Lonnie mentioned earlier that one of their employees was testing/running this setup. Hopefully, they can post here what they did to get this working.

Eric stated that it should automatically find the driver and do 24/192. He did mention something about a driver from VOX. Unfortunately I just deleted his email a couple of days ago - my bad.
