Will XSP-1 have individual gain control for its high and low pass outputs? In addition to a perfect choice for me, that extra functionality would also make it the only choice for me as well. I would guess not . As the low pass outputs , in most setups , would be sent to a powered subwoofer with its own gain/volume control . If you needed to vary the output level between the HP and LP outputs for use in a bi-amp setup , I would look at amps that have their own gain controls . I believe Parasound's Halo amps have adjustable gain controls on the rear panel which would facilitate your needs .

Yes - this was covered in some old posts regarding the XSP-1. I asked this question as all of my subs are 'passive' (powered by an external amp). There were some pics showing the individual trim pots/resistor trees allowing you to set the levels. Cheers!

I could be wrong , but I think these are tone controls . .......... The XSP does have tone controls but if you want to disable them, you can. There is a direct switch which will completely bypass them. If you want to use them, they are really slick in my opinion. The way they work is there are switches that drop in different value resistors into the feedback circuit of the volume control to boost or cut the highs and lows. This is really a very complicated way to do it, but it is a very pure pathway and keeps everything in the analog realm. LF = bass . HF = treble . If they were labelled L P and H P I might be inclined to think they were there to adjust the HP/LP filter on the rear of the unit . If they were variable , I would think they would be on the rear of the unit somewhere near the frequency pots .......... Don't get me wrong , for those of you that need variable LP/HP output trims for passive subs etc. , I sincerely hope you are right .

I'm also waiting on the XSP-1. If I miss any early buyers discounts, I will not be happy.
