That ought to be interesting. Although, I'm sure the results may be a bit predictable. They will like it and recommend it(like everything else they review), and they will certainly say... "It's very good for the money."

Apparently Stereophile is going to be doing an ERC-2 review in the future. So I guess Emo is advertising in Stereophile now? |

That was actually a pretty good mini review. I usually think Stereophile is full of you know what, but nobody can deny the importance of a company having products favorably reviewed by them. Hopefully Emo can get a bit more respect from the new Stereophile reviews.

I just bought mine today, i'm so happy!!!!  based on what I've read on it, the cd player should be very good, especially compared to my pc reading my cds I'll post what I think as soon as I am able to listen to it |

Correct. If you are using the ERC-1/2 as a transport you will not be using the DAC. But, at that point I would question why spend so much just for a transport.

Oh the places I went  ;D ;D This cd player is astonishing. It really breathes life into the cds. I have it hooked up to the pc's sound card through a glass optical cable. The sound card converts the signal to analog and sends it to two upa-1s through a 1/8" to RCA cable. Then the signal is sent to the acoustech pl-89 towers(www.bicamerica.com is the website) through the Emo X series speaker cables. I know that my sound card is degrading the sound but that is the only device I have to control the sound   . But it still sounds fantastic . There's more details, more depth,the sound is more spacious and slightly warmer although I will need a preamp like the usp-1 or xsp-1 to really make the speakers sound warmer which I plan on getting. Oh right I almost forgot, a veil was lifted  . I know how much people use that term but I hope no one gets upset ;D. Overall I am happy with the cd player even though I know I'm not using it to its full potential although like I said I am planning on getting either the usp-1 or the xsp-1 which should really take me to stereo heaven. |

Funny how Emotiva starts advertising in Home Theater and Stereophile, and now they will receive reviews - 8.3 Towers in Home Theater (I think) next month. I enjoyed my ERC-1 whilst I had it, but decided I really enjoy having a multi-disc changer better (with an outboard DAC). Since the ERC-2 has the same design as the -1, would there be any difference in sound quality?
