Adcom appears to have came out with a new 2-channel pre-amp, the GFP-815. See link: www.adcom-usa.com/gfp-815C'mon Emotiva! -- At LEAST, where is the promised specification sheet for the XSP-1 ?? Please deliver soon. Let us see the specs! Thanks! The XSP-1 is going to released shortly. The Product Model is going to be shown at Emofest this coming weekend. The specs for it will probably be forthcoming after Emofest. However, you can tell what most of the features are simply by looking at the from panel and rear panel photos of the XSP-1. The most recent photos released by Emotiva can be viewed by clicking the link below. Enjoy. emotivalounge.proboards.com/index.cgi?action=display&board=preampdac&thread=19364&page=6#253092The XSP-1 has all the features of the new Adcom pre-amp and then some. The XSP-1 is blessed with dual differential, fully balanced circuitry; has XLR and RCA inputs and outputs; has an external processor loop; has an advanced analog bass management; has user selectable 12 dB or 24dB roll off; has user adjustable settings to match the phono stage to the specifications of your MM/MC cartridges; has HT ByPass switch; and has multiple sub woofer connections. The XSP-1 has all the features expected of a Flagship Preamplifier and has been designed to be a perfect match to the XPA-1 Power Amp. Many of us a drooling in anticipation of the release of the XSP-1.

I just checked out that new Adcom pre. Not impressed at all especially at that price point. Very plain looking and minimal control from the remote. Not in the XSP's league as far as features go. My short list is still the XSP-1, Onkyo P-3000R and Parasound P7. I know the XSP-1 specs are not even released yet but so far for me, based on what I know now, it is very close between the XSP-1 and the Onkyo. I absolutely love the Parasound but it is really out of my price range. I'm really looking forward to hearing from the Emofest attendees about the XSP-1.

Yes, Roadrunner, I know most of this... And, I purchased a set of XPA-1s along with a USP-1, and an ERC-1. I think I received them all in February 2010. Then, I purchased the XDA-1 with the 'un-modded' volume control. So, no longer using the USP-1 sice the mono blocks are hooked-up directly to the XDA-1 via XLR. Now, years ago Adcom produce the GFP-750. It was supposedly a pretty darn good preamp, a Nelson Pass design: www.stereophile.com/solidpreamps/133And, quite a few months ago, since I was disappointed in Emo broken promises, I contacted Adcom via e-mail to see about their next generation preamp. An Adcom Rep promptly replied to my e-mail and sent me an e-mail of which included a 'draft' electronic pdf file of the GFP-815. They were very interested in my feedback. And, I promised I would not share the draft file. Unfortunately, the Adcom GFP-815 is not what I'm looking for to compliment my other EMO gear. And, to my recollection, EMO made a former podcast months ago, promising the XSP-1 spec sheet. Well, that didn't happen. I think you know that... Emo has dangled this carrot on a stick long enough now.--The carrot has aged to the point where it's just about no longer edible. I will continue to wait a bit more. But, IMO, the least thing EMO can do is provide the "promised" spec sheet to make things better.

So as I read from emofest participants, XSP-1 will be available only in Jan/Feb 2012. Is it an official statement?

Wow, if true, that sure 'sounds' like no Christmas music being played through an XSP-1. (literally)..........?

honestly I am a bit disappointed. But it would be good to hear if Jan/Feb 2012 is a finally official date of release...every time there was kind of unofficial hint when it could be released, but never an official one. After Emofest, IMHO, Emotiva should announce the date. Otherwise it is not fair to loyal customers, isn't?

While talking with big dan this afternoon, he said that the xsp is in production right now. They are working out all the production engineering issues right now and as soon as they have the line running smoothly a release date will be forthcoming. He said that if all goes well, the xsp could be available for christmas. However, that is not a promised date and it could take another month or so to get the production line running up to snuff. It is getting very close now, and it will be well worth what little waiting you might encounter at this date.
A fully functional xsp was in use in the two channel room. The erc, xda, xsp, four xpa-1 power amps were powering the new xref towers. Sound quality was extraordinary. The xsp feeding the xpa-1 was a match made in heaven.

January/February were the "safe" dates given. They fully expect the XSP-1 to be ready for the holidays. I twisted a few arms (and many Bothans died) for that information.

Anyone snag some pics of the latest incarnation of the XSP-1? From reading another thread, it sounded like the XSP-1 has some beefier RCA jacks?
Mark.

Fellas, life is too short to get worked up over production delays. Things like this happen to all the folks involved with making the things we'd all love to have.
I sure enjoy my USP-1, and can only believe that the XSP-1 will be a further refinement. I hope to own one when it becomes available, and won't lose a moments sleep before that.
With that out of the way, I'll begin my Christmas list....
"Dear Santa....."
Happy Listening all...

Out of town right now, so it will be Friday before I can post them. It does have the stronger "Tiffany style" RCA connectors. Sound Quality was excellent. Judging from discussions at Emofest, they are going to the Tiffany style RCA connectors and the higher quality binding posts on all their future gear !

being in the market for a new home theater preamp, I certainly cannot wait to see what this one has going on. I currently have the onkyo 1009 (yeah yeah I see onkyo getting bashed all over the place here) and primarily got it for its home theater features (conversion processors, dtx neo:x, 9.2 channels and integrated apps). hopefully, some consideration for high end home theaters users will be given to the xsp-1. I have about 2 weeks that I can still return the onkyo...even hearing the features and specs of the xsp-1 would be enough to make my mind up.

Henbone, I think you need the XMC-1, not the XSP-1. The XSP is an analog 2 channel stereo preamp, not a HT preamp processor.

Unless you're looking for a quality 2 channel preamp with HT bypass for music, to integrate into your HT with your Onkyo. But that's not what it sounded like to me.

Having heard this at Emofest, I would concur with this, and definitely a reason why I eagerly anticipate the XSPs arrival. A fully functional xsp was in use in the two channel room. The xsp feeding the xpa-1 was a match made in heaven.
