OK some time since last post, yesterday two boxes got in to my office surprice the XPA-2 and the XDA-1 ;D, the guys on the work told me what the hell was those big and heavy boxes jejeje after getting some help to put them on my car ( i cant my back needs a resonance soon but for the faces of those carrying them i can tell xpa-2 its heavy lol) i got them home and connected inmidiatly because the box on the xpa had a hit on the exterior box, thanks god all lights got blue and amp was working perfectly, i run them with a couple of songs while i was doing another things waiting for some burn in on the speakers since i didn't use them whit the old speaker thinking that frace not enough watts burn the speakers more than a lot of power. the xda looks great to i love the blue glowing on my living room i connected to my macbook pro via optical cable everything great but. now two issues, first when i turn on the xda and triger the xpa i got a big pop thought the speakers is this normal? the second issue the step from 0.0 to 0.5 wich its the minimum increase of volume it sounds like litte to loud its not a soft increase like going from 10 to 11 is this the famous volume isue ? i will try to run more the equipment like another 50 hrs at least to start some serious listening but so far it sounds very transparent and detailed and now i understand something i read in a post that you go up on volume without lossing detail, and not noticing the efects of distortion asociated to very loud volumes. ah and my t shirt didnt came with my equipment ill contact sarah to see why ? saludos

I dont get the "pop" at all with my XDA-1/XPA-2 setup that i keep reading about.
as for the volume setting at the lowest level.....yeah its a little loud if your trying to go to sleep with it and your speakers are already very efficient. That is the ONLY thing i dont like about the XDA-1. Probably not an issue with less power and less efficient speakers though.

Hey Chuck.. this sounds familiar? LOL - This was my plan, (Gradually get the gear) and a couple of days later 9 big boxes showed up at my door! This is addictive. Well.. Chuck, here comes another round of 75+ PMs for the bedroom install! LOL Oh true the part of use my gradiente as amp was not the idea but who can get the speakers without testing them now the plan stays almost the same wait if emotiva have a sale next halloween or black friday the xpa-5 and use the gradiente as pre or maybe go with de uMc 1 thats the first part of my plan then go with a 6.2 as center and erd as surround and stay like that for a time Then later get a subwofer and a dedicated stereo pream I was thinking on tubes because there is one guy here who makes really nice ones very nice sound. Thats my plan more less And thanks for the advice shurely not bank acount and definetly no girlfrien next To roberto lol all i got for him its wine lol

hello all
first of all i must apologize because it took me so long to reply in the forum but sometimes life goes crazy, and my health was not so good my back was really a mess an now I'm at home after a two level artificial disc implants operation felling OK so i can get back on this thread
well are the 8.3 the speakers for me ....yes i think so they have re educated me in a way of different sound timbre as i was used to. they are very precise i usually don't use any equalization in the Amara exept for the house and disco music when i think a little more dept in the bass would be ok but the control of the bass its greatly appreciated
the voices are crisp and the realism of the instruments its great, as it was described they have a very laid back sound that makes you relax and enjoy the music the xpa-2 drives them really nice here maybe I'm spoiled by the sensibility on my old infinity speakers feeling that they don't sound really loud or maybe my configuration using the xda-1 as a pre?
The only draw back i have had in my system its the xda-1 its so f.... annoying it clicks and pops when its turn on ,when change sources, when the resolution of music changes to 24/96 in afraid it damages my speakers so i use the mute button when i do change sources or i play high res files i have not contacted support because it has happend long time since i got it and right now i don't wanna stress myself with this kind of things
i would really recommend all thinking to get the 8.3 before they disappear
