i received my orders for the CMX-2 & 6 (two each). those things are beautifully made and they are massive and heavy. they are not some little toy plug strips, trust me. i knew they were something special when i picked up the CMX-6 box and it was heavy (for a thing of it's type), i was like wow, maybe they sent me a tiny amp by accident! emotiva has put a great deal of time and research into these devices. i'm glad i have them. i put one of the six's in service to plug my XPA-5, XREF-12 & UPA-2 amps into. i also have the emo shielded power cables for each of those listed devices. i now feel even better now that the CMX is between them and the power. i have the CMX-2 (one of the two) in the trunk of my car to go between my trunk invertor and my gear. i've got a XDA-1, SBT, a wireless router & a power supply for a 12v trigger. I have a 1tb USB drive connected to a powered 2.0 hub which is connected to my SBT and from there it's digital coax out to the XDA-1 and RCA out to my car's receiver for all of my hi-rez audio everything from MP3 up to 192/24 and it all sounds amazing! i wanted the CMX-2 in the car between the invertor and the gear because i've been worried about DC voltage leaking through (somehow) from the car, through the invertor and into the gear. i believe my fears are now gone since reading about this device. it's a serious piece of tech. i'm not going to tell you that anything sounds better, i am going to tell you that i feel better for the extra layer of protection between the power and my gear. most of all knowing that these devices don't clamp down or limit amp performance which is important for many of us who do want to have another form of protection (other than what's built into them) for our amps! i have a spare 2 & 6 that will find a place in the house. i suspect that one is going to make it into the bedroom and one into the basement setups. thanks to emo for putting out such great power accessories! did i mention how good they look!

Hate to bring this back from the dead, but.
I have an amp that has a good bit of hum, and I narrowed it down to being the plasma tv's fault. With testing I found it was mucking with the DC voltage on the line (evidently this is more common than I thought). So, I ordered the 2 outlet version from Amazon.
Question, seeing as my new marantz preamp has a transformer too, i am guessing it would be wise to plug both the amp and preamp in the CMX2? The description says filtering for "audio components".

Same question here... Do I plug the TV into the CMX-2 to clean up the line (in my case the TV hums like a bugger when some other gear is on) or do I plug everything else into this? Or just the offending gear that makes the TV hum?

is it a plasma? not sure if anything will fix plasma buzz. Yes it is a plasma buzz, but only happens when I have my media PC hooked up or my external DAC. With those components off, no Buzzing....
