Hi all, Thought you might like to see the front panel of the new XMC-1 waking up...
Note the sweet OLED graphical display!
The break-away boards on the corners hold the front panel HDMI/USB and headphone/measurement mic connectors.
Things are moving along beautifully!!
Cheers, Big Dan

Hooray! Glad to see this kind of progress. I'm really looking forward to seeing this come to life in my HT...
Dan, the high res display looks very nice (such a huge improvement over my old DMC-1!). I'm hoping that the labels on the input buttons are modern (meaning one for Disc or Blu-Ray instead of "DVD", and the like) to go with that modern screen...

That XMC-1 is quite a flirter. Isn't she?

Not to be bad guy here because I am also patiently waiting for XMC-1 ready to order.
DAN, does it mean XMC-1 just start the prototype testing? The front panel waking up usually means the procossor is boot up and ready for action but it doesn't mean the DSPs are ready yet. It seems to me that there are still quite a bit of testing to be done.

Hi, This is a picture of the front panel sub-system in operation.
The DSP engine, ARM processor board, and HDMI sub-systems are fully operational. We're moving at a very rapid pace and expect to keep our summer delivery date.
The main analog and DAC board is finalized and PCB is laid out. All in all, we're in really great shape.
Keep the faith, this baby is for real! Peace, Big Dan

Is it June yet? ;D

Peace, Big Dan almost 5 years since this project started, if it not real than there will be trouble ... how is the firmware comes alone? better QA than those 1st batch on UMC-1?

Can't wait to get my hands on one . Thanks for the update Dan, good to hear it's on schedule. Looking forward to compare it to my Denon AVR 3311 and hoping with TacT there will no longer be the need for my Antimode 8033C. When around that time the European branch is also opened, you make me a happy man. As I am from Holland and I know German also, I was wondering(your last name is translated 'Walkman' or 'Walkguy') if your roots came from Europe.

Nice work, coming along very well. Question: Can I get the sub to play if I use analog inputs of the XMC-1, without going through an A/D conversion?
