Unless you have very hard to drive speakers in a huge room, or if you just want a different look, you probably don't need to get rid of your very excellent monoblocks.
Unless you want to sell them to me at the fellow Oregonian discount lol.

so...XPA vs XPR ... what fits where? is the XPR series the higher end or is the XPA still the higher end?

Yes, the XPR is the highest(reference)in the lineup. Then the XPA, then the UPA in that order.
Although, I seem to remember Lonnie or Dan saying that the XPA-1 won't give up anything to the XPR series, and it will basically remain the top Emo amp in SQ. I could be wrong though. Anybody else remember that?

so ..if I want a complete Emo set..then I should wait till mid 2013 when all the XPR goodies will be out
Pre Amp, Amp, Dac, Source... for me to get back in and put a matched system together...
I guess I continue to save $100/Month into my Emo Savings account untill the time is right.
I should Sell my Carver AMP's...
you guys think there will be any takers here?

I think they should revive/reutilize the RPA designation. Reference Power Amp makes more sense then Xtreme Power Reference. Not that it matters... |

the amps look very nice, but, i haven't been able to challenge my XPA-5! i've got so much power available with it that i'm good to go. if i didn't have the XPA-5, i would go for the XPR-5. still want to read up on them once they release the spec's. expect to see (and hear) them at this years emofest!

Me too! Not to take anything away from a great new product launch but I too am set with my dual XPA-2's bridged where there is a lot of headroom to go. That said, it will be interesting to hear reviews, see specs and all that good stuff. |

I need one now! They seem to be pretty tall too(which is cool). Can you imagine an XMC-1 on top of an XPR-5? Awesome! Pauly, I can easily imagine that combo in my home theater! ;D |

I never said they were in my budget, or could even afford them! but I'll get an XMC-1 when they are released since I'm on the original list and then see where on priority list the XPR-5 falls. I'll admit, it is extremely hard to not make an exception for these new products from Emo. These are exciting times! I really think this new gear will be somewhat of a game changer for Emo.

Oh thank God! After waiting this long, if the XMC-1 didn't match our XPA-5 and ERC-2 as I promised my Japanese wife, I would lose face and have to jump from the Space Needle. (I'm really afraid of heights!) ;D ;D ;D Well I think you'd just be forced to get the xpr-5 |
