I have bubble wrap around amp and boxing by UPS include UPS insurance and still have same shipping material by World Wide Stereo. If it was damage during shipping, he should contact me immediately but he wait exactly 30 days to file paypal dispute. It's very strange to me. The amp is $1150 why don't he contact me immediately about shipping damage. I don't understand his problems or way of his thinking. It's too late for me to file claim via UPS after one month. Did you let him know you were insuring with UPS before you shipped it? If so, he should have contacted you immediately upon opening the package and noticing the damage. Anyhow, probably best to let Paypal deal with it now.

I don't remember if i contacted him about it. It's $1150 amp so i bought UPS insurance in case damage during shipping. He should contact me immediately after inspecting package. Moreover, he lied to me that he did not open it until last week. A whole point is he lied to me from beginning and said that it would cost him $500 for Integra Home Theater repainting front plate of amp. I contacted Integra Home Theater and they told me that they do not provide repainting service. Now, he requested $300 refund instead of $500. It's kinda strange to me.

I've been using ebay and paypal for about 12 years and have had probably 4 or 5 issues both buying and selling. I have always found paypal to be fair and honest in their settlements. Of course, I have always won so I may be bias!!!! ;D
I keep good records and have found that one thing they do look at is frequency of use on ebay and/or paypal. They will typically favor the person that has the most feedback or use. Maybe not in a blatant case but when they review the facts, they know that someone who uses them more is usually telling the truth.....
That's just been my experience...................

I told you I took it out of the box when I first got it to look for the power cord and warranty. I took pictures for my ht gallery and then it went back into the box where it has sat in a closet for 1 month until now. Get your facts straight. Also if you look in the gallery pics you will see the scuff in them.

If you win the dispute pay pal will have you ship the amp back , once the tracking shows the seller got the amp " signed " for the amp you will get the full purchase price back including shipping cost . Now as for the return shipping you will have to cover that because that's the way Pay Pal works.
All the seller needs to do is agree to issue a refund and this will get the ball rolling , if he does not agree you'll win anyway so just sit back and wait .
I know its just a power cord and they are all pretty much all the same , but the way it looks to me is the seller took his sweet time getting the warranty and power cord to you if he even did this yet , I myself would of been upset also over this .
At this point you guys should agree that the amp gets sent back and you get a refund , but make sure you do this inside of Pay Pal or you will end up with bigger problems . Pay pal has to give you the green light at this point to return the amp or you'll have no protection and be on your own

I've done several Onkyo face plate changes, and it never cost me 500 bucks let alone 300. The most I've paid was 78 dollars or so, I think Bill Mac also changed the face plate of one of his Onkyo, and he can tell you it didn't cost him 300 bucks to do so. So I quite doubt Integra would charge that amount and highly think they'll go to all this trouble to paint a face plate. Good Luck Dan

I am surprised that PayPal hasn't settled this already if it was escalated to them. Most of the time they tell the buyer to ship it back and when they see that the seller has received it they issue a refund. Of course since this wasn't sold on E-bay the seller probably has transferred the money out of his PayPal account. No sure how PayPal gets the money back from him in that case.

I messaged Paypal to change it from the $300 partial refund to returning the amp for a full refund. Quite frankly if I have to go thru this guy to get warranty work done I want nothing to do with it or him given how long it has taken him to handle this. If you had been told this is what you are buying, you didn't get it the way you were told, the seller has dragged on getting you the items he originally said he would, and then failed to tell you that he didn't ship things out when he said he would...would you be happy? The scuff marks aren't big and I was willing to let that go given how long he has taken to resolve getting me the power cord and warranty...it would have been a hassle. I've got a total re-modeling of a house going...I work 60 hours a week...etc. The last thing I want to deal with is something that should have been handled by now and isn't that complicated to deal with. I understand having a busy schedule as mine is hectic but I would have had this done weeks ago if I was the seller. Mistakes happen but taking this long is just beyond ridiculous.

You also didn't take into account all the other factors involved.

I am trying to find conversation between me and him on paypal and pasted it on emotiva. I will let emotiva members decide who right and wrong. You can do as you please. This isn't between the emotiva members. This is between me, you, and paypal right now. I've got those messages also. I've also got my conversation with another potential buyer you have been in contact with. I'm not like you however and make a big crying scene to people I don't know. I've stated my side only because you went this far. I'll say no more. This thread and any further discussions about the matter is pointless. It is as simple as that. For someone that has no time you sure seem to find time to post on this forum a lot....

FOLKS take numerous pictures of your gear/s before shipping like that you have more than a leg to stand on whether it be with the carrier for claim purposes, or the buyer. It will just make things super simple at the end.
I stupidly shipped out a Turn Table with their feet attached to the bottom plinth, I took pictures of it all. I couldn't dispute that the buyer had done the damage to the plate as I had images to show my dumb, dumb mishap. It was easy peasy issue to resolution because of pics. It can work from both ends..
Good luck
Dan

He says, " Send me the refund and arrange for the pickup of the amp and that is a done deal. Otherwise I'll be willing to keep it with a $300 refund." He is trying to threaten me. I will let's paypal handle this case thank you for emotiva members provide information for my situation. I shipped cable and provide invoice via paypal. Where is that a threat? That was my response to when you told me you'd take the amp back. Those were my terms in resolving the matter and not a threat.

He damaged my amp and claimed it on me. What a douche bag! I didn't damage a thing. Calling me names is real mature. PayPal will love seeing this thread. I'm done here.

I'm sorry, I would be far more likely to believe a buyer if they brought damage up upon opening. But only having an issue multiple weeks after receiving it even though the time was taken to unpack it and take pictures to show it off and then box it back up sounds pretty suspect. If the damage was indeed there and was such a huge deal that you felt it was worth $500 (lol), I would guess that you would have contacted the seller immediately. I wouldn't take it back either...especially if it was undamaged when it was originally shipped. The power cord issue was obviously his fault, and his delay in getting the original one to you should have been solved long ago, but it's a standard power cord...
Take it as a lesson learned...if your receive a package and check the contents and note that the item is damaged, contact the seller immediately so that they can attempt to resolve the issue with the shipping company. Generally not a good idea to wait several weeks till it gets to the point that nobody can do anything about the damage.
