Additionally, someone also mentioned, or perhaps recommended adding a 30 day return option after TacT is eventually released. I have to admit that I like that idea and if implemented, could be that final 'nudge' to be one of the early adaptors when the XMC-1 orders finally go out and my number is eventually called. I agree with this 100%. If Emotiva gives this option then many might be more inclined to buy the XMC-1 without TacT. If there is only the normal 30 day return policy in place and the TacT update is released at a later point but is not what some expected then there is no return option. But if Emotiva offers a 30 day return window after the TacT update is made available one is not taking any risks at all. Bill

Thanks to all for their expression of thanks for my note-taking. FYI, one more piece of news I forgot...according to what I was told, the "UMC-1 40% discount coupon WILL be applicable to ALL new pre/pros". Mark, thank YOU!! Now, ALL new pre-pros? Say, I buy a UMC-1 ($500) now and a RMC-1 (say $3,000) in a year or so, and only pay $1,800? I think it just means you can use the coupon on a UMC-2 or UMC-500 or XMC-1 or RMC-1, not on more than one unit. But yes, you should be able to use a UMC-1 acquired coupon on an RMC-1 - that's more likely the route I will go if the features are there.

I haven't heard from Hemster. Did he leave Bosco's or whatever that club is named? Did anyone check the warehouse or the 2-channel demonstration room? Was RLW at EmoFest? I haven't heard from him since TS Isaac watered South Florida. We have 2 missing members folks!

I am fine folks. Having returned home from Emofest this afternoon, I spent the day with my daughter. I will say that this was the BEST Emofest so far (and I've attended them all). Thanks Emotiva for everything. A lot of hard work goes into the preparation and they did a stellar job.

Glad to see Hemster made it home! I also made it home fine myself...it took just 4 hours, including a stop for groceries. To re-emphasize what Laurence (LCSeminole) said as he stickied my notes in the below thread...if you have any questions about what I posted in my notes, contact Emotiva directly. What was captured was what I heard (with the help of others). And, while I wrote what I think I heard, I am human and make mistakes. On the point on the 40% discount for "all" new processors, I would particularly check that point if it is critical to you. That was a casual reference that I didn't confirm, esp. as it relates to the RMC-1 (but I am 99+% sure it applies to the new UMC-200/500 and I am 100% sure it applies to the XMC-1). And NOTHING I wrote should be taken as the firm statement of Emotiva. I just did my best to capture what I heard. To see my notes, go to this link (thanks Laurence!): emotivalounge.proboards.com/index.cgi?board=updates&action=display&thread=25877Mark

I'm pretty sure I'm not special enough to be the only person that can benefit in that way.

I want to thank Big Dan, Cathy and the entire staff at Emotiva for putting on an amazing show, once again.
It was also great hanging out with the Emo-Lounge members, looking forward to meeting up next time.
Cheers. B.Hulk....

So what your saying is Buy the unit when it comes out, say 6 months later TACT is released for installing and the 30 days starts from there?. so essentially the 6 months waiting for TACT is extra time to screw around with the unit. What ever happened to loyalty and trust of EMO staff and there product

Well, I think they went over a year of sales of the UMC-1 before they "turned on" the 30 day return. Which meant that, even though I had my UMC-1 for about a year, I still could have returned it for my money back.

Well if you were a well informed Emotiva customer you would have known Emotiva extended the "30" day return time indefinitely when the UMC-1 first came out. The reason for that was Emotiva was working on FW updates to improve the performance of the UMC-1. Thanks to stiehl11 for reminding me of that fact . So even though you might think some of us are from a different planet it is not an outrageous idea . It is not a matter of not trusting Emotiva or a lack of loyalty. But $900 (using the upgrade card) is alot to spend on a prepro that has a feature that might not work to my liking. So if the 30 day return window is well past when the TacT update is offered what options would one have if they do not like the way TacT works? If TacT was fully operational when the XMC-1 was released then one would easily know within 30 days if it was a keeper or not. Bill

Most certainly. For the members here that were not around during the early days of the UMC-1 launch, and Emotivas follow up responses to everything, I have to say that they went out of their way to make things right for the earliest adopters. First, they extended the 30 day trail period for a very, very long time. Then they gave UMC owners a $100 Emo bucks certificate, and of course, they also received the upgrade card as well. IMO, Emotiva did the right thing (and probably lost a lot of money in the process) to "make things right" for the owners of the UMC-1. Currently, they have them marked down to $500 and it STILL comes with the 40% off card...not too shabby if you ask me. Emotiva's customer service, and their willingness to take care of their customers speaks for its self IMO. Fret not early XMC-1 adopters, Emo has shown time and time again, that they WILL take good care of their customers.

I've modified and cleaned up a few posts in this thread that were easily construed as "personal back and forth" shots. At this point it doesn't matter who started what, the moderation team is not going allow these personal back and forths to get started. If you feel the need to get personal, then take it off the Lounge please.
