While $900 certainly isn't chump change, its not like a 10K investment either. I spent about that much just getting to Emofest to see the XMC-1 as did many others. But I spent a lot of time in the TacT room and now I'm/we are spoiled about its capabilities. So don't make us wait too long :-) I will take mine "tactless" for now!!

Thanks for your candor Dan. I fear nothing about getting the XMC-1 w/out TacT. I believe and trust you. You can ship mine anytime you want :-) +1. As someone else said, I agree, just ship mine before you ship Ed's.

For the record, I have every intention of buying one as soon as I am able/my reservation is called. I will be replacing my aging Denon AVR 4306 with the XMC-1, a pair of XPA-1L's and and XPA-3.
I have every confidence Dan, Lonnie and everyone at Emotiva will delivery. There is no doubt whatsoever.
Yes, the UMC-1 has/had issues but the XMC-1 is not the UMC-1. It is a completely different animal. These people obviously care about their company, their products and their (potential) customers. How many other companies (a/v or otherwise) put on something like Emofest? None.
If anyone wants to say Emotiva isn't delivering on a promise I just have to point them in the direction of Microsoft or most smart phone manufacturers. They advertise a feature then can't deliver upon release but still eventually get it out via update. And you know what? All their products still sell like hotcakes.. a few people on the 'net bellyache but they are few & far between.
The XMC-1 is going to be magnificent piece of work. For all those that want to give up their spot on the reservation list to wait it out I am positive there are twice as many people that will be more than happy to take their places.
I have an upgrade card and I fully intend to use it.
With all that said... I do see one flaw in the XMC-1 and that is the impending RMC-1. Yes, my only real problem is that I may want to give Emotiva even more of my money.
Not a good thing for me but a great thing for Emotiva. No wait, that will probably be a great thing for me too.

I know the fine crew at Emotiva know exactly where I stand. I'm very comfortable with their timeline, I know they will deliver Tact as promised, and I WILL be buying an XMC-1 when available. Thank you Dan for a very direct update!

You can take all the time you need Big Dan, my UMC-1 is doing a fantastic job so waiting a little while longer for the XMC-1 is ok with me.

Hay Dan how about getting some emotiva thumb drives to send with the Mic preloaded with the firmware. Something in a black and silver aluminum would be nice ;-)

I apreciate immensly Dan's posting here, I'm impressed. I voted in the other thread and hope my place in line is advancing.
I just want to get others take on the timeline Dan announced (unless he wants to clarify). In the unofficial forum report the XMC w/o TaCT was expected ~ Dec. 1 2012, with TaCT coming out 1Q13. Did Dan now say w/o TaCT in 1Q13? And no timeline for TaCT? Sorry that part wasn't clear to me.

No need to wait for the boat... ship mine south from the factory direct to Singapore. I'm even keen to go do a factory tour and collect it...and a few more for others in my neck of the woods

Thanks Dan for your post, I had no doubt that yourself and Emo would do the right thing by its customers.
The idea of supplying a memory stick, say about 8~16 gig's in Emo colors and logo, is a cool Idea, As someone else said, I too would pay extra for that.

Dan, thanks for the post and thanks for your honesty. As tired as we get listening to the gripes and concerns, I can't imagine how tired you and the staff get having to listen to them. I'm taking one when they ship. Sure am glad I'm #1 on the list!!!!!! ;D

Emo is by far the best A/V company that I've worked with from a customer care perspective. IMO their experience in the field prior to the development of this company is what has lead them to be special now!

. Sure am glad I'm #1 on the list!!!!!! ;D How do I find out where on the list i am. Peter There are two lists that I can remember, an original pre-order list that open & closed 2 or 3 years ago now, and another that started up approximately this past February 2012. I'd imagine those on the initial list will be the first to have an XMC-1 in there home. Though obviously, the Lounge is considered unofficial product talk, I would have to think contacting Emotiva directly would be a good place to ask your question.
