Hi and a big thank you to all the people who have given us notes, pictures and comments on the great weekend.
It really helps us folks from far and away overseas to feel part of the occasion and the festivities. As a relatively new and inexperienced member of the family (just over a year) it is wonderful the way you share information and ideas without making people feel like they are stupid or just shouldn't be on the forum. Yes I have been an avid reader of the forum since buying my first Emo gear (UMC-1, XPA-5), but haven't made many comments. I am really excited about some of the equipment talked about and can hardly wait for it to all arrive.
Thanks again for allowing us to feel part of the family from so far away and the great notes and pictures
Cheers D

ok, here's how smooth emotiva is for folks asking about their customer service. while at emofest i made some purchases and used paypal, had trouble using it. the process was harder than i thought but we got it done. a couple of hours later i realized that during all of this, i hadn't used my $50 emobucks coupon on my transaction (boy was i pissed). i let the folks at emo sales know this, the lady told me, not to worry, give her the coupon and she would have it deducted from the paypal charge.
last night i got an email from paypal that emotiva has refunded me $50 now, most of the time if you forget to use a coupon after you have made and paid for something you were just out of luck. she could have said sorry but next time remember to do it before paying. instead she told me, no problem, they will get it done for me AND THEY DID!
so for folks worring about the kind of company they are, well i'll tell you, they are a hellova damn good company. their products and their people. they have demonstrated time and time again that they do care for me as a customer as well as a person and an individual. they have always tried (for me) to make things right---even when they did nothing wrong themselves!
that's the kinda company i wanna do business with! (they sould use that on their website!)
i'm happy and proud to be a product owner, a VIP member of such a company!
see you guys next year!

Thanks for all the info and coverage from Emofest! Looked really exciting. I am curious of the discounts available on gear for those who attended, as mentioned in the podcast. Not sure if you are allowed to post that info up.

Not sure if you are allowed to post that info up. Well, the discount was very attractive but varied with what one bought. Everyone who attended received $50 in Emobucks which can be redeemed on the day or until 31-Dec-2012. Guess you'll just have to make the trip from Coquitlam next year!

just got my tracking info, the two XDA-1's i purchased at Emofest have shipped! Hee-Haw! Right there with you solarrdadd, just got my tracking info for my XPR-5. Now I can put one of those two 20a dedicated lines to good use. ;D I just took my XPR-5 with me. It had to ride in the passenger seat. Wanted something like an XPA-7, but I guess 400w x 5 will have to do for now.

well, i'm bumbed out. i purchased a pair of ERM 6.2's from area 51 at emofest, they assured me they were tested and worked fine. they also told me there is no warranty and it's as is. i was leary and asked what happens if i get them home and they don't work, i was again told not to worry that they had been tested and they worked. so i paid. i just got them to my office at work to set them up and test them and they didn't sound right. of course i realize why they don't right, one speaker has almost no sound coming out of it while the other is blasting away. yep, i switched L&R on the speakers and the problem followed the speaker. i'm gonna contact emo to see what they will do about this. this is what i was so afraid of the terms no warranty/as is. while i would hate to have to pay to send the one back for repair, i would rather pay for that and hope that they repair it no cost to me and ship it back or that they tell me i have to pay for everything. these are the chances we take at area 51. i'll let you guys know how this all turns out. i am hopefull that emo won't leave me holding the bag on this. so far with all my dealings with them over the years, 3 amps, 2 DAC's (which i haven't yet hooked up) and 2 emofests this is the first snag i've hit with them. i'm gonna put them to the test on this. i only put this in the emofest thread because this was something i purchased during emofest.

Want to make something clear, just in case I was one of the ones being labeled as a complainer or "sitting on the sideline". I think Emotiva is an awesome company. Both their CS, and vale for the hard earned dollar. (just picked up an XDA)
I'm with one of the prior posters. HT guys, people with less than perfect rooms, multiple sub people NEED advanced room correction. Its just kind of a bummer thats such a major feature area didn't make the initial list of requirements before release.
Weather I wait until sometime next year, or buy a comparatively priced pre (they do exist) will need to consider now.
I'm definitely looking forward to the unit tho, I have a gut feeling it will be a winner.

I would think that if using thicker wire or pins like that, you'd need a washer under the knurled part to hold down the jumper?
The pins have no "squish" (versus bare wire) so will hold the threaded section up.
IMO bananas are the best option for these types of post.
If Emotiva added a strong spring around the threaded section, between the knob and jumper plate it would likely sort this out too.

Just curious if there's any overhaul of the Emo in-walls/ceilings coming soon? Especially changes that may include an in-wall subwoofer and/or inclusion of the new ribbon tweeters? Thanks!
