Andrew, is a straight analog preamp, or does it have a/d capability? Thanks, I'm sure Andrew will answer, but I'm 99.9% sure that it's just a straight analog preamp.

No A to D. If you're looking to convert your records to digital you may want to check out Music Hall's turntable aimed at that market. Or the super cheap ION turntable that does the same thing.

Looking to possibly interface my Thorens/Grado TT to a digital pre, and it's come to this!
Thanks, Andrew

Complaints, complaints.... It's really nice, and tiny, and works better than most phono preamps out there - at any price. So what's not to like.... Looking to possibly interface my Thorens/Grado TT to a digital pre, and it's come to this! Thanks, Andrew

No complaints, except that everyone else should include an analog in like the DC-1!!!

True that the DC-1 does have an analog in, but...it just goes to analog out, not an A/D converter. And, the XPS-1 DOES have analog input...but just a very low voltage one! Mark

There was a mention of a possibility of a bundle price with the XMC-1. Is that still in the cards? (ie. do I wait for 2 months?) Jeff

Emo just saved me a bunch of $. (I think) Was considering the Jolida JD 9 or a Nakamici CA 5 both $400+. Been dying for the phono pre and now can have one for a lot less. Still can't wait for someone to compare the Jolida to the XPS-1.

Mark Right, but if one only had digital inputs he'd need an external A/D convertor (ART makes an inexpensive one) to connect the TT......

I've used the behringer UCA for A to D work (48khz limit) and it works really nicely.

I know we can call in an order, but any update on when it will be added to the website?

I know we can call in an order, but any update on when it will be added to the website? It will probably take a few days to get it posted on the Product Page on Emotiva's web site. Dan stated in the latest podcast that he hoped to have it up next week, but to call in your orders in the mean time. To find details on the performance just go to the XSP-1 Product Page and read about the Phono Stage, it has exactly the same features and circuits as is being used in the XPS-1 Phono Preamp.

That said, if someone is in the Minneapolis area and has an XPS1 or is getting one to sample, you can bring it to my place and we will do a comparo. I have a fairly high end setup, so it would be a good test. Primaluna tube integrated, project turntable and b&w nautilus 803 speakers.

It's here and on sale!! Check out the product page. Woohoo! EDIT: Oh man, Nick beat me by just over a minute. I'm almost tempted to buy one now just to have it, even though I don't have a TT yet. Haha! EDIT 2: updated link.
