Are you saying that just because there is no update?

From the emofest wrapup thread:
Also, they are still working on a mini-preamp with a built-in DAC to go in the Mini line (as they revealed last year)...an initial prototype would have been too costly for their target price point (which at the time was $199), so they have gone back to the drawing board on it - No timing estimate.

Are you saying that just because there is no update? Didn't mean to alarm potential customers. I was hoping for a meaningful response from EMO. Beginning to think this system might appear in the same amount of time the XMC-1 will appear for sale. Have some AEMPYREAN speakers coming and this would power the small pair.

I'm not going to sift through all 10 pages of this thread to see if this has been mentioned, but Marantz has the product I would want. Amp, CD player, tuner, wifi, tone controls, and a couple sets of inputs just in case. Looks pretty too, and, it's a good overall size being almost square and not very tall. One and only downside is it's not exactly cheap at $699. Make it $300 and I'm there. Only thing I would love to see added would be an alarm clock feature with snooze on top, but that's because I want one for my bedroom. us.marantz.com/us/Products/Pages/ProductDetails.aspx?CatId=WirelessMusicSystems&SubCatId=0&ProductId=MCR610

That is an awful crowded segment, Onkyo has some pretty nice offerings as well.

i would make the amps bridgeable so you could add two or use them to bi-amp the speakers.... I am using a XDA-2 and Pro 5s right now. for an exec system powered speakers are a good option. So definitely separates so that you can go powered speakers, one amp or stack them...

This mini preamp and the new XPS-1 to go with my mini-x, bookshelf speakers and future pro-ject debut carbon. I nice compact system. I hope it comes to fruition.

I voted separates.. I would just hope that the quality is top notch in a small package.. Even if it is part of the mini line the quality could be up there with class leaders at EMO price..

I think this mini system is a great idea...
I think emo would have great luck just making some 1/2 chassis stuff that matches the mini X {I own 2 of these}.. A nice line up of separates that stack with the ini x would be awesome..
A dac A mono block {100x1} A preamp {something with a sub out and adjustable main out cross over} and a CD player
so we can either have something simple like the cd player and the integrated mini X, or something a little more versatile like the preamp with the dac cd player and a pair of 100w mono blocks, or all of that with just the mini X instead of the small mono blocks....
I would buy it all... it wouldn't be all just for the people that want a mini system, some people may just want a smaller cd player and dac they can stack next to each other on top of their xpa2.....
Now hurry up and produce it dan, shouldnt take too long, just have some new faces made for the mini x chassis and jam the xda2 and cd player in them, lol.... A good start would be some photo shopping and a "coming soon" label on the sale site...

Love mini components. Would definitely buy the separates. I think the integrated, based on the provided picture, looks too chunky/busy/unorganized/confusing with the dual displays. I would say get rid of the amp LED display, maybe just have two small blue lights like on the amp1. But still, separates win in my book.

If they were to go mini I think it would be a great idea to have a tuner and alarm clock (possibly with cd as well). Good way to top off the stack and would be immensely useful.

I second imcloud on the mini-x sized mono blocks. How sweet would that be! I would totally go for a pair those and and the pre-1...

As usual, I'm coming in late to the party. It seems this has potential. If Emotiva could build something similar to the Teac NP-H750, this would be my ultimate dream system. A USB DAC/Network Player/Integrated Amplifier, dlna certified, wifi certified, has AirPlay, has Vtuner internet radio, and has a 40wpc amplifier, I am ready to send my money.
