A ride in which I will ride my bike over 208 miles in support of my Type-1 diabetic daughter and those like her. For the last two years my friends in the Emotiva Lounge have banded together to help me in this cause and I call upon you once again. Also, Emotiiva Audio Corporation will once again be my official corporate sponsor for the ride! This is for a great cause. Thanks Derek for all that you do and Emotiva for supporting this cause.
Let's all do our best to defeat the big bad "D" which is fast becoming an epidemic.

Its a very noble cause but there will be no cure for Diabetes. I have is and inject three times a day. There is NO money to be made on a cure...only "management". four years ago a researcher looking for a cure too the essence of a special pepper plant and in surgery, injected it into a diabetics(one) pancreas and it started pumping out insulin immedately. No one has heard or seen him since. Well I have to say that if everyone had such an attitude we'd be living in the stone age and wouldn't be communicating on something such as the internet.

Yea this is not the place for ones views of the world . This thread is to ask for help in Derek's quest for a cure for a disease that his daughter has. And Cathy stepped up and sweetened the pot. So lets keep the BS out of this thread. I'm sure that Derek's daughter would appreciate it and so would the rest of us

It's stuff like this that makes Emotiva more than just a company selling audio equipment. You have my respect. Please exclude me from the HT giveaway. My gift to Derek's family needs no reward.

To quote the incomparable Donald Sutherland in Kelly's Heroes: Why don't you knock it off with them negative waves? Why don't you dig how beautiful it is out here? Why don't you say something righteous and hopeful for a change? I've known too many people with diabetes. It played no small role in why my grandmother had to lose a leg. Donation gladly made. It is amazing the community that has been built in this forum especially over the last several months. I'm not only an Emotiva customer for life because of the great products but also because of the people - both in the company and the extended forum family. I've yet to make it to an Emofest but with the way we're coming together and pitching in here is special - I'll be damned if I miss it this year. And while I still would have donated even without the giveaway, it's not a bad little bonus either.
