how far is the seating distance from you and the ERD-1
surrounds? can you localize the surrounds or the speakers
really disappear?
I'm interested in getting a pair for surrounds, not surround back.

I have the ERD-1's serving side and rear duty in my system.
The side speakers are roughly 5 feet to the sides of my primary position, and are placed 6 ft from the floor to the bottom of the speaker. The rear speakers are 10 feet from the primary position and are 6 ft 8 inches from the floor to the speaker bottom, due to being placed above 2 closet doors. With my system, the sound just sucks you into the presentation, whether it's a movie or music. One feature I like on my Outlaw 970 is a 5/7 channel stereo playback. It sounds almost the same as listening to the system in my car, with much better SQ.
