Regarding TV and CEC: From what I know TV is intended to power on/off other devices not pre-pro to power on/off TV and you can control stuff from TV remote (like volume, play, pause, skip, menu etc). Have you tried it this way?

I bought one of these used on eBay for $50: www.amazon.com/Niles-Black-FG00242-Voltage-Triggered/dp/B00086IDDCThe TV turns on and stays on, as long as the video source is already active. Of course I have most of my sources plugged into this as well. HDMI CEC is just another failed CEA experiment, like DLNA or firewire-based displays.

Thanks Rosenbom ; after your suggestion I tried the tv remote and found on/off turned the pt7030 off [but not on ] as well as limited transport controls on my oppo 103d ;not including pause for some strange reason [no matter] which has 4 different cec options including full and limited . Will play some more with it and see if thats it . May start using a few macros on the harmony one day

I actually have Harmony Touch, Samsung TV, PT-7030 connected to HTPC via USB-CEC. What I don't like is that I can't control vol up/down with +/- button, instead I had to assign some other (in my case 7,8 and 9) to do vol up, mute and vol down. And maybe 'cause my Samsung is old it has a bit odd 'way' to start Anynet+ (hdmi-cec). Maybe I'll try it with recently purchased LG.

It's possible there is an issue with the supplied dongle. You should call Emotiva to see if they will send you a replacement or help troubleshoot the issue.

Mine works fine. I'd also encourage a call to Emotiva.
Cheers!

Good luck and let us know. Been a week now and still no reply from emotiva, looks like support as reliable as some products.

Try calling them, they are actually known for their great support so I'm sure it will get resolved quickly.

I have had positive experiences when I have called the tech support number so I agree, he needs to call them to get this resolved. However, Emotiva may want to remove their email address for tech support as it seems there have been a lot of complaints about a lack of response when people use this form of communication. When people complain about not receiving a response to their email request (s), the response from Emotiva or other forum members always seems to be that you need to call them to get an issue resolved, do not email them. So why have a tech support email address?

On another note, it would be nice to get an official update from Emotiva on the status of the promised firmware upgrade for the PT-7030. I have had been told by an Emotiva Tech Support member that they will NOT be coming out with a firmware update but on the other hand Andrew was quoted in October as saying they will definately have a firmware update for this unit. Any response from Emotiva would be appreciated.

If Emotiva goes ahead and reissues the PT-7030 as the HDP-7000 as planned, then you may see some software revision bleed across. If they don't make the HDP-7000, then don't expect any new software for the PT-7030.

Yes Dan refers to 'the fusion line - which is plural at the very least ' in the you tube vid and the 8100 has had the fusion treatment so leaving one candidate to fulfill that tenuous commitment Andrew would have said something by now so have to agree the fusion line is the only forseable lifeline

Hello everyone,
I just picked up a 7030 used off of ebay. Everything works great except for the analog inputs. I have a Mac Mini that connects to a XDA-1 via optical. I have RCAs connected from the xda to the 7030. I can hear a whisper if I turn up the volume to 85. The HDMI connections work great. I did a direct connect from Mac mini to 7030 via the same optical cable and it works fine. I went to the menu to make sure I had it configured to analog and I did. When I go into the menu it only give me an single analog option. When scroll through the other types of connection is say HDMI1-HDMI2-etc, Optical 1-Optical-3 etc and the same for coaxial. Hopefully I am missing something that is so simple I will smack myself in the head later saying "I should of know that. Any help would greatly appreciated.
Thanks
