Amazon has dropped the ball. None of my order has shipped yet. According to the details, it will actually be shipped from 4 different places. 3 of the 4 say "preparing for shipment," and the last says "not yet shipped." My estimated delivery is June 9 to June 13. Basically, anytime next week. I guess we'll see. Amazon usually does better. This sucks. What also sucks is that I'd be willing to bet that I was one of the first people to pre-order the super deluxe sets (did it immediately that morning they were up on Amazon), but since they also shipped to stores and other people paid extra to have theirs shipped for delivery day of, I may be sh*t out of luck getting one's out of the first 30,000 that will be specifically numbered. I guess we'll see. Not going to loose any sleep over it just annoying to me. But oh boy, Amazon did "turn on" the albums onto the Amazon Cloud player, so I can at least listen to them in crappy 128 MP3 sound. Nice. Yesterday I went to Hastings and they had a few super deluxe box sets numbered for sale for $129.99 each. what does that mean? They were numbered,,,,,hope you get yours numbered the first few hindered my friend. As you may have seen in my earlyer post,,,,he,,,,he,,,,, I will get mine around June 12,,,,,,,God help us!

The packaging is horrible for the deluxe cds. They use the cardboard slots in the digipak, and they are tight. You have to be careful you don't scuff the discs trying to dislodge them since they didn't include any protective covering for the discs. I will keep the discs in a slim case so I don't have to fight getting the discs in and out without damage. This seems to be the way it is anymore with every CD I get. I don't like it either. I don't mind digipaks so much if they still have the plastic insert holders. But when the slots are tight it sucks. Packaging on the Celebration Day stuff wasn't super great either so this doesn't surprise me. This show has been out on bootleg for a long time in various versions. I'm almost sure anything we get here sounds better than those. But your simple comments are probably the reason why Jimmy doesn't put out more live stuff, because people will be critical of it. Not saying they shouldn't be, but Zep live is not Zep studio, period. Never was on a single song ever. Some people love it, some hate it. I for one wish he would put them out in some sort of series called something like Led Zep - The Bootlegs. And then put a major disclaimer right on the front cover about sound quality. But that will probably never happen. Yeah, I was able to listen to all it on the Amazon Cloud and can't say the alternatives blew me a away. La La is the most off the wall and surprising. Jennings Farm Blues is a very nicely cleaned up version of the bootlegs, so at least it sounds good and finished. Why they called the one track Bathroom Sounds vs Out On the Tiles I'm not sure. SIBLY is quite good, super raw down and dirty blues. I also liked the new feel of That's The Way. But most of the others are just really nothing all that special. Can't be a judge on this yet since I don't have them. Only thing I can say is that supposedly zero compression was used, so you may be wrong there. Other than that I guess I'll wait to see. I also like the Diaments versions, but Jimmy himself has said many times over the years that he thinks they suck, so anything he does will not sound like those.

To provide the crisp clarity and detail for the certain freqs to stand out more there is going to be a little compression in the mastering. I read where Barry said he had a 4th generation tape that he used for his masterings. Considering that I think he did an outstanding job with what he had to work with. The Diament cds while not the best for clarity or evenly balanced at least has a nice warmth to the sound. The new remasters for the enhanced clarity and a bigger sound stage is pretty impressive. But it lacks that warmth of the Diaments. That is really my only reason for preferring it over the new remasters.

I went to my local record store yesterday and the owner told me there were some delays that weren't really publicized. He said there were a few issues with the deluxe CD's for 2 and 3 so they were a couple days late and some pretty big issue with 3 on LP and it would probably be a couple weeks before he could get one. I looked on Amazon today and 3 on LP is not available right now.

I had mine pre-ordered on Amazon and it was still showing preparing for shipment yesterday. Then I received a mail saying there was a delay, and it would be arriving around June 9th-12th. I cancelled the order, and bought the cds online at Best Buy. They had all three in stock so I could pick them up at the store so I didn't have to wait. Led Zeppelin in crappy 128k is still better than no LZ. Amazon has dropped the ball. None of my order has shipped yet. When you guys get the high res files, I would love to hear how they compare to the Brit vinyl.

I wanted to hear the real early rough drawing board songs before they were polished. I agree this would have been much more interesting. Supposedly the Presence one is going to be the one to watch for. It's supposedly like an entirely different album. But I'm not going to hold my breath.

Do you know the tentative release dates for the others? I've seen mentioned on some boards that IV and HOTH in Oct, and PG in Feb. I'm hoping the companion discs for the others have some real gems on them. But I will not get my expectations up this time. I hope to be presently surprised. Looks like there are delays everywhere. When I ordered my three deluxe vinyls (non-super) B&N said they are expected to ship on 6/3. This morning (6/4) at 6a I received three separate emails stating there is a delay in shipping. What joy. I hope it is resolved soon. If the LPs don't ship in 30 days B&N automatically cancels orders.

My previous set was the 1993 box set of all CDs. I ordered the remix versions from HDTracks without the extra stuff. I haven't listened to too much, but did compare in detail: LZ1: You Shook Me/Dazed and Confused LZ2: Thank You LZ3: Tangerine Initially there seems to be far less noise and more detail! Perhaps a bit less DR. I'll be interested to hear what others say!

I got my discs in and have given them a quick listen. I ordered the CD's and they do come in a digipak and they are a little tight. However the disks slide out of the top of the packaging as apposed to the side and I do not find it that bad. True as someone mentioned above it does not have a protective sleeve. I find sleeves are cumbersome at times and it is hard to get a disk back in at times with a sleeve my personal opinion. I enjoyed the 3 discs I think the quality of them is very good. I wish I had some Emo monoblocks to to listen to them on. I find the sound very clear, clean and crisp. I am happy with them ad I can not wait to hear the others in 2015.

I'm going to pick up some round bottom sleeves since this type of digipak packaging seems to be the norm. I want to protect the cds and still use the digipak so I don't have to waste space with jewel cases to house the cds beside it in the rack.
