I just bought a dc1 to go with my setup.

If you need more than 1 analog input I would say XSP-1 and if not then XPA-1L's and have the DC-1 going XLR to the XPA-1L's, that's my plan, I plan on using the input toggle switch on the back of the XPA-1L's to choose what input I will be using, I'm also going to try the DC-1 connected to the Balanced input of the PT-7030 to see how that sounds and may not even need to have it connected the other way, I will be doing a little testing when I have everything here and setup.

I would go with the XSP-1. It is the closest you can get to having nothing between the DC-1 and the amps while also having HT Bypass. From my experience going from the USP to the XSP, I think you will notice a bigger change with the pre-amp change than the amp change.

Thanks for the input!

Ahhh yeah didn't realize you needed HT Bypass, I wonder if it's possible to use the analog input of the DC-1 as a makeshift HT Bypass lol, have the L&R channels of the pre/pro/receiver going to the analog input of the DC-1 and when needing to just set the volume of the DC-1 to Fixed....?

I was hoping that the DC-1 would have per source volume memory (add that to my feature requests). At least for the analog input.

For $1,169 you could get a USP-1 as well as an XPA-2 for the mains.

I DID ask emo tech about this and they said they ONLY wouldnt recommend it because it wasnt designed for that and they couldnt guarantee it would sound good (basically covering their butt because it wasnt branded as a HT pass through) but if it is truely an analog input it should not alter the sound at all then i could sell the usp1 and my xda2 and buy the amps!!

I'm not sure you need the amps right now for your current setup which are bookshelves. But they can't hurt.

If I had a bigger house(mine is only 820sqft) I would not have ordered the XPA-1L's but instead a pair of Stealth 6's and had the XPA-5 running my HT system and had the Stealth DC-1 and Stealth 6's in a separate room for exclusive 2ch listening but my house just doesn't have enough rooms for that Chad
