Just ran. Into an issue why I can't use the dc1 for HT bypass. No LFE channel input. Which is ok as I could just route that directly to the sub but then there would be no bass management for 2 channel :/. Ugggg
I'll try it. I haven't run the imagine b's in full range since I got them so lets see

Ok seems that HT bypass is a go! Only issue is you can't access the dc1 menus by remote. So no macros can't be made to change between variable and fixed output. That's the only issue I see thus far. EDIT: just realized no need for fixed output. Just out the volume level at 0.0 So of anyone wondering YES THE DC1 CAN USE THE ANAOLG INPUT FOR HT BYPASS But now I have dc-1 direct to the xpa5 with balanced cables. So music should be saweeeet! Anyone want to buy a usp1/xda2 combo? Haha So now again....I'm thinking mono blocks for the mains now that everything is set and I no longer need ht bypass Thoughts? Or should I still get the xsp1 preamp?

How low can your PSB bookshelves go, you may need to use a sub if you are looking for the low bottom end......?

They are rated to 52hz
But sound nice without the sub IMHO

So you are running the FR/FL from pre/pro into DC's analog in's, running LFE from pre/pro to sub, and then when in 2 channel you are not using a sub. Correct? Then, for HT Bypass, you set the DC to analog in's and fixed output. For 2 channel you set DC to whatever digital in you want. Correct?
Cool! I think I would need a sub with my Maggie's but I should listen to them.

I agree with Bmoney that you can keep the volume on variable and set it to 0, I'm not sure how high above 0 it goes but as long as none of the kidlets come along and crank it up farther lol.

Mark Yes except i am now just using variable out set to 0.00 (same as fixed) this way when switching from movies to music i dont need to go into settings. I wish there was a way to bass manage with 2 channel in this configuration. If only my minidsp had one more input :/ So i MAY still grab a xsp1 Im not sure.

Bmoney, Maybe I'm not getting it, but it seems like a weird combination to use.
In order to listen to 2 channel music, what would be the chain?

The xsp would be SOLEY to be able tonhave bass managemnet with 2 channel. Not really worth 800$ imho
So i am leaning towards adding mono blocks. But not sure those are worth it either hahah

As long as we're spending your money, if you are going monoblocks you need to think XPR!

So for example if you are on the coax input listening to tunes from the CD player and you also have tunes playing on the mac via usb don't switch the inputs unless you have nothing playing...? seems odd, I've never had that issue with any device before.

No what I mean is when using the dc1 in "ht bypass" mode I have it at 0.00 volume (basically fixed output) When switching from that to USB (my music) I cannot have a song already playing because it is clipping loud Listening volume is around -30

Every one needs to order a pair of XPR-1s. I bet more of you would keep them than you think. They can be as delicate as you like, yet put you on the wall when you WANT! I know we all have budgets, I did and thought ,I'll give me a listen and return to my original plan. Paradigms Studio 100s to match my adp 590s....... We'll we see how that worked out, the Paradigms are on hold while I spend time saving because there's NO WAY IN H.LL the XPR-1s are going back! Peace, Nick
