Buy the upmodel XSP to avoid an intermediate (USP) upgrade. More cost efficient in the long run.

Ok just had a nice little session playing poker so i have another 1,000$ burning a hole in my pocket. I just bought a dc1 to go with my setup. Next up... Upgrade usp1 to xsp1 or.. Get a pair of xpa1l's for the mains? And go.... Did I read that wrong? yep.... My point is always err toward the higher upgrade. I have personally (too many times) wished later I bought the higher end model. If it were my system, I would look at the XPRs. The XPR-2 is about the same money as two XPA-1s. Less space and a higher model device.

Luckily yo this point i have always sold the equipment for break even or even a slight profit. But like i said i have been lucky I mean hell i went through 3 levels of emo dac s in tr past 5 months haha So back to the question xsp or 1l? Thr xsp would be a straight upgrade. While the xpa1l would be add on's (and actually set me up for the future to go 7.1 from 5.1 freeing up two channels on my xpa5)

Check my edit above. Think maybe an XPR-2 might fit nicely.

Might be worth a call to check if they had a B Stock minor comestic flaw available for sale. That XPR2 is one beefy amp.

XPA-1L's, but only if you are going to make good use of their Class A topology.
Cheers Gary

XPA-1L's man unless you really want HT Bypass then the XSP-1, currently I have the DC-1 connected to the Reference balanced inputs on my PT-7030 and it sounds amazing, not sure if I can even tell a difference of it this way compared to straight to the XPA-1L's, but the analog stage is amazing on the 7030 as well. Hey maybe sell the 809 and get 2 XPA-1L's and a 7030 haha

lol, I don't even mind listening without a sub and my towers are not full range, but the bass sounds amazing through the DC-1 and the XPA-1L's

The XPA-1L's should give you new additive SQ, where the XSP-1 just won't take any away from where you are.

the edge is going to the XSP-1 i think XSP-1 will give you HT Bypass and XPA-1L's will give you a gain in SQ, probably not night and day from the XPA-5 but it will be an improvement IMO. Chad
