This thing looks substantially better, by a long shot, than the early pre-production ERC-3s that were being shown.
Very happy about that. The early units were ugly ducklings, this thing is a prom queen.

Those were excellent videos - very, very well done! Lonnie did a great job. He has great credibility so whereas before I had no interest in the ERC-3 since my ERC-2 is fine, he made it sound so attractive that now I would like to know what are the practical differences between the 3 and the 2. I know the slot versus tray load is a big difference but what other major differences are there? So far all I've read are posts with people getting saliva over everything in anticipation of the release of the ERC-3 but nothing concrete in terms of how it compares to the earlier models. So let's wipe the saliva away and get to the practical parts.

Too bad he's sitting in front of those non-Emotiva loudspeakers...

Maybe Emotiva is the new national distributor for a British speaker brand that rhythms with A&W.

Looks nice!
Great videos Andrew (and Nick M and Lonnie!)
Andrew - the videos definitely bring an air of elegance to the brand!

We have no affiliation with Bowers & Wilkins of any kind apart from being fans of the brand and their respective products. We use their speakers in-house when demoing our amps as we do a lot of other company's speakers too.

Don't torture yourself, just sign up on the Pre-Order list and do a head-to-head review detailing how the two CD Players match up. If you can't get Santa to put an ERC-3 under your Christmas tree, sweet-talk Mrs. Monkumonku into delivering you an early Christmas present. If you find you are too busy to do an A/B comparison in time for Christmas, just send the ERC-3 to me and I will do an ERC-? shootout since I already have the ERC-1 and ERC-2 -- which I wrote detailed reviews that I posted on the Lounge. Oh, by the way, thanks (in advance) for the nice Christmas gift. Ho, ho, ho and an early Merry Christmas to you.

It is great to see this big of a response to the video. Andrew did a killer job and, as always, Lonnie is smooth in his delivery.

Just from my own perspective I doubt I will hear any audible difference between the two (of course everyone's mileage will vary) and seeing as how I like the slot loader I should just stay out of trouble and stay put. But I do wish you a Merry Christmas, though!

Great video. If still I owned more than a handful of CDs I would be all over this! I love my DC-1. Putting that tech into a CD player is going to make it one hell of a product! And Lonnie - mock turtleneck, calling something magical - having a Steve Jobs moment are we?

Sorry, Andrew, that was meant to be 100% a joke as it was right after the post by DYohn, that was obviously in humor about the B&W speakers in the video. I thought the smiley face in my post ( ) would make it obvious that it was humor.

Only you and yourself can be the judge....Remember that you can always return it after exactly 30 days... I think you mean to say you can return it BEFORE 30 days? Aren't you allow to keep it for 30 days? If so I would think you can either return it before or after you had it for 30 days......Or does is has to be back at Emotiva headquartes before the 30 days? Only you can be the judge...!
