The ERD surrounds are quite nice surrounds, as are the ERT's and Stealths.

I concur with bootman. The reference series was definitely something to behold. Excellent price/performance. I do kind of miss them. I would classify them as "elegant" I would agree with all of above, it doesn't hurt that I still have the ERTs in my HT.  i just got a second pair of ERT 8.3s at the used prices that have been going lately, i plan to use these as surrounds, and have a matched system for 11.2 in the future. its not like they will not last another 5-10 years in perfect performance. At that stage we will probably be moving back to the UK, and will see where the industry state of the art. Otherwise the reference speakers have been fantastic for my ear. i regularly compare the houston symphony to playback on the 8.3 in stereo. no complaints! |

Emo, please give us a bone on these. I would just like to know if they are even still in development or if the idea was scraped. I've gone an bought a pair of maggies for now, if you could provide a small update maybe I could hold out a little longer on my theater speaker upgrades. You have my attention so please don't squander brand loyalty. Thanks

I think I may go with Aperion Forte Grands. Unless of course Emotiva can confirm if they have their new reference line is still on its way. If so, I will hold onto my current setup. Any input would be appreciated. |

They obviously aren't going to confirm anything, I figured people would know this by know. Also, just because they post pictures of speakers (or whatever) doesn't mean that it isn't going to be vaporware in a few months time.

They've just gotten more quiet about announcements. Just might be 6 months or 6 years. I still want the Stealth 88 - but that was never actually announced as "coming". |

Also Emotiva, for the love of Pete, please have some real wood veneers as an option. Birds eye maple, hickory, acacia, olive and cocobolo would be nice choices. Black is sooooo black...

Then they should not have posted a sneak peek sooo long ago saying more to come. Figured? I figured you wouldn't generalize people so much. Vaporware? I have a sneaking suspicion that you are correct here. I will spend my hard earned money elsewhere. Just don't like getting my hopes up on something that really looked good... |
