Well sorry. Lets recap my statement with more:
1. Poor integration - Even mine are not perfect but there are folks who are extremely knowledgable w/ this and it takes alot to get them perfect
2. Underpowered - enough said
3. wrong size... you don't bring a 8 or 10" sub to the mix and again it's all about your desired frequency range.
Here is what I like to stick to:
10" sub = down to 30hz good for music only in small rooms must have at least 300w or more
12" sub = minimum for movies, better for music plays down to mid 20s adequately 500w+
15" sub = getting perfect now... 750w+ and hits down into the 18hz range decent and sealed makes one hell of a midbass when properly sized enclosure
18" sub = best, 1500w+ now were talking
21-24" sub = bestest 3000w+ per woofer
ALL THIS REQUIRES PROPER ENCLOSURE MATCHING period AND must be matched to your size room. 1200cu-ft can get away with smaller subs.... 3,000 needs dual 15s imho and larger than that rooms then lots more.
