I would First experiment with some means to pull entire post. A rig using a car floor jack should be able to exert enough UP to pull 'em......
I'd like to post a shot of the (about) 12"X12" maybe 20" tall....or more.....concrete footings holding the posts from my recently removed patio cover. Too heavy for me to lift, I did need some help from my gardener.....
How close to the Surface does the concrete come? It should be flush with or 'proud' of the ground....How you gonna bury that?
The post sticking UP, if in good shape...and my 4x4 (full dimension rough wood) were NOT, can still exert a lot of leverage. I dug around than
rocked. Than was able to remove.
I had only 3 of 'em, but it didn't take that long. Ground here is awful....heavy clay and nearly waterproof / bulletproof / radiation proof / gopher resistant.....
You STILL gotta get the saw (sawsall, I presume?) down into hole for flush cut, regardless of blade.
Needs good rethink, maybe.....
HOW MANY posts are we talking about?

About a dozen posts - Enough to be a PITA unless I just pay a fence company to take them down...
And yesterday, I invaded the closet & dug out all my unused interconnects. For Sale ad to come once I get the photos sorted out. Apple, for some unfathomable reason, has had their iPhones all begin saving photos in some HEIC format. Of course, now I have to edit each one and convert them to .jpg before using for web posting. Just another waste of time brought to you by Apple...

Microshaft pulled a similar stunt years ago. Picture It! software saved in some wacky proprietary format. I sent my software unopened to a friend who wanted something to process pics. And when I got some images in the mail, I could NOT open them. Not even photoshop worked and you could not get any converter online.....
I went thru some loops and discovered you Could save as a JPG, which is the only rational way forward with that crap.
Even camera manufacturers give away the right software to process RAW images. And save as something more useful. Even my Mac will apparently open my Nikon RAW files (.NEF) in 'preview'.....
A dozen posts? Piece of cake. Once you get a system down? Even at 30 minutes per? Only 6 hours......Than take a long lunch!
Got any bids from a real fence company? Just curious. Here in SoCal? You'd be into it for 1000$ to start, I'm sure. We live in an area where you can't get 10 feet of rain gutter installed.
ALL gutter compnaies have 500$ and UP minimum. Which come to think of it MIGHT cover 10 feet around here.....

I've discovered that I get wonky effects if I try to plug stuff into my Mac mini through external hubs. For example, I often take photos with my iPhone. My iPhone was plugged into my Mac mini through a Thunderbolt port on the back of my Apple Studio Display. So there were "two jumps" between the phone and the computer - from the phone to the monitor, and from the monitor to the Mac mini. When I used this arrangement, I'd plug my iPhone up and the "Image Capture" app on the mini would only see some (but not all) of the photos on the iPhone.
I initially thought it might be a cable issue, but when I plugged the iPhone directly into the Mac (using the same cable), now Image Capture would see every photo, every time. I went this last Thursday to my local Mac Users' meeting, and the expert there suggested that a timing issue was to blame. The app apparently expects to index the photos available in a certain time frame, and if it takes too long, some of the photos get cut off. The most likely cause is that the Image Capture app needs to be updated for Thunderbolt, and probably hasn't been.
Oh well...
The slight wonkiness of my M2 Mac mini have decided me; I'm running Roon and my music system from my 17" HP laptop with Win 10.

Learned something yesterday... I moved my Roon Core from my Mac mini to my 17" HP laptop running Windows 10. The laptop was already connected to my house modem via Ethernet. Got my new iPad in, set it up, installed Roon Remote, and connected it to the house modem's wi-fi network. Then I tried to get the iPad to connect to the Roon core on the laptop - nothing. The Roon Remote app would just sit there and churn while looking for a Roon core. I availed myself of the Roon user's forums, and a moderator immediately jumped in and told me how to fix it. In the laptop's networking setup, one has a choice of "private" or "public." If you choose the latter, you can connect anywhere (you'd need this if you travel, and that's why I had it set that way), but if you select "private," the laptop will only connect to devices on your local network. I changed from public to private, and the iPad instantly recognized my Roon Core. Will this cure my dropouts issue? Enquiring minds want to know...

Today, I got in my "Sun Joe" pole hedge trimmer. $65 with free shipping. Compared to more than $500 for the EGO cordless rig, it's quite the bargain. Of course, it is corded, so you'd better have some LONG runs of 12AWG extension cord if you have a big yard. The thing is also seriously tip-heavy, since its 4 amp motor is at the end of the pole. It also has only a 0.7 inch bite between blades, compared to the EGO's 1.0 inch. But despite its shortcomings, the thing works like a champ! Provided you've got the upper body strength to wrestle the awkward thing around, it does just what it should. It won't gnaw through larger stems, like my hand hedger will, but so what. I get even tops on the hedges without needing a ladder and the few stems that exceed the bite of the Sun Joe I can get with nippers.

I purchased a Sun Joe electric chain saw and that baby works great. That 2-stroke stuff is so temperamental and infrequently used that it is nothing but a headache to maintain and use. I give two thumbs up to the Sun Joe. Now it all makes sense as to why you need four extension cords. Just don't cut the cord

Yes - I bought an EGO brand 16-inch chainsaw, and wife accuses me of being entirely too handy with it…. 2-stroke engines and I have never gotten along well. The battery-powered saw is amazing, though. So much so that I also bought a cordless reciprocating saw. On trunks of less than six-inch diameter, the reciprocating saw has become my preferred tool. The reciprocating saw is more precise and causes less peripheral damage. The chainsaw, although quicker and more capable on larger trunks, has a broader blade and requires more space to wield.

Well... Cox claims that they've "upgraded" me on my internet speeds. The download speed has increased - I'm now showing 595 mb/sec on downloads. But uploads are still only 10.25 mb/sec.
Oh well...

Quick CAMERA question?
What memory do you recommend?
Lexar or SanDisk? I can buy 64gb of Nikon Approved CFExpress (XQD 'relative') for about 60$ or so.
Either better or worse? I know my camera won't take advantage of those massive speeds (buffer / Bus issue) but
XQD is becoming difficult to find AND is even more expensive....!!

Right this SECOND, I tested on OOKLA and got 330meg down...and an unexpectedly low 5 'up'......
But still and all? What am I running here? A small country? A 60 story office tower?
No. I may use TV for a movie download and check my email at the same time........
Exceeding 30 or 40 down is maybe gilding the lily?

Memory cards change so quickly that any advice I give is bound to be obsolete by the time I give it. Since I shoot photos only (no video) the speed of my cards doesn't matter. I buy the cheapest 64gb cards I can find.

Retest right this minute...... 260mb down 9.3mb UP
Right now should be nearly a 'peak' of demand, shouldn't it?
Still exceeds nearly any conceivable need of my small household....
My only wish? Faster UP, so I could do cloud backup that wouldn't take 2 days for the first go.

Last report:
right now?
347mb down 8mb UP
This at midnite when I'd expect demand on the entire internet in the lower 48 to be near-minimum.....
I rather doubt my system would go any faster under ANY conditions.....with the current equipement set.

MOST home Internet connections are "asymmetrical" - and provide very fast download speeds and much slower upload speeds. They don't really consider cloud backup; they assume that most home traffic is streaming or downloads. (And that the main need for high upload speeds is to run a commercial server... which they don't want you doing on a residential account anyway.) They would also consider that you would run the occasional cloud backup overnight... when you wouldn't actually care how fast it is. Yes ... and then my friends ask me why I don't just use cloud backup for my photos and I say "Dude, it's 25TB ... I tried Amazon back in the day and it ran continuously for THREE MONTHS and didn't get half of it." They look puzzled, and a year later ask me again. And the fact is, when I DID try to do it, I didn't even get the nominal upload speed (like not even 1/10th of that) because they throttled it.

When I visited my mother out in the middle of nowhere I was able to get somewhere in the 40s......not bad....

Anybody but me watching the Tour de France? Exciting mountain stage today and a shakeup in GC..... More mountains in the couple weeks ahead and MY personal favorite.....the Individual Time Trial. I've been watching it as I do every year. Forgot to record yesterday. Will watch today when I get home from work.
