Thought I would start this subject after the other thread went south, with the pending release of the XMC-1, hopefully before my Birthday on the first of June  , I would like to find out how as a holder of a 40% discount card (in my grubby hands)is going to claim the discount. Does Emotive have a record of the card and give an automatic credit when I purchase? Do I pay full price and send in the card and receive a rebate back? Give them a code off the card? (There is a set of numbers on the back) Send in the card, then wait for confirmation and price ? These questions may seems a little dense to some but what can you expect from an old fart like me Cheers Bob |

I believe they need the physical card, so you'll have to fed-ex it to them from what I understand.

You must send it in to Emotiva with post and then you use the discount on the purchase. |

When I redeemed my discount card I posted it insured, return receipt. First I called and told them that it was coming and they made a note on the computer. Once they received it, they processed my payment and shipped my processor to me.

Thanks for replies guys, since I'm the original holder I thought Emotiva would have a record of cards sent out and save me the cost of Fedex to them. I'll be patient an see if s someone from Franklin chimes in Cheers  Bob |

I believe that you might be able to send it to them ahead of time - so they have it on file with the discount ready to go as well.
I could be wrong though.

If the $20 means that much to you, sell your discount card and get something else. (cards get sold here all the time) It is always good to have options. |

Shipping costs have risen of late for pretty much everything and the trend is moving away from free shipping. Considering the tremendous discount of 40%, it's still a great value, IMHO. |

Not complaining in the least  I will gladly pay the $20 for shipping and the Postage, I'm like a lot of you been waiting a long time on the XMC and getting a little antsy as to when to send in the card if required, have not heard anything since the last podcast. Cheers  Bob |

I would never risk sending a card worth $800 by regular mail with no insurance, tracking or return receipt. It's only the price of a postage stamp to send the card in. Even courier will cost around the price of a cup of joe at Starbucks. As I stated above one is taking a $800 risk when shipping the upgrade card USPS without insurance. If the card gets lost you would be out $800. Seems an easy choice to pay FedEx or USPS Priority $20 +- to make sure your upgrade card arrives safely. Lets see $.49 or $20....................... hmmm seems like a no brainer to me . Bill |

I'll just drop one of mine off at the office (just found a way there that's only 25 miles instead of 40+). Then you can pick up your XMC-1 in person. Save $20 (minus the gas for driving 50 miles). I've tried that a couple of times with other pieces of gear I've bought from them. The only time that worked was when Vince, Dan, and Lonnie allowed me to take my XPA-5 home when I went there to audition it back in February 2010. Since then, they prefer to ship it to me. |
