There are no surprise fees when you receive your shipment from Bongo. Our cart generates a landed cost for most countries at checkout now. Thanks Jessica. That's good to know. I ordered SA-250 to Canada last week and it arrived today. The invoice / payment on the Emotiva/BongoUS site quoted $0.0 for customs and taxes. The amp arrived today and FedEx charged me ~$130 CAD for customs/taxes upon delivery.

If duty and taxes were not charged at the time of purchase that sounds correct, but at least Bongo did the paper work for customs to have the equipment enter into Canada, otherwise FedEx/UPS do it on your behave and charge you their outrages brokerage fees, which is what I was referring to.

Hi all. I am having real trouble contacting emotiva.
I just ordered a xpa 5 for delivery into Australia last night but the order history isn't showing up on my profile at emotiva. Com nor have I received an email from emotiva.
I emailed them twice weeks ago to ask questions on admim@emotiva.com and didn't receive any response. Despite not hearing anything I still ordered the xpa 5. I also tried to email orders@emotiva.com last night to ask this but haven't heard anything.
Does anyone have an email I can send my query to?

Call them, around 7.00 am EDST is a good time, that's 2.00 pm in Tennessee. In fact call them now, it's 3.30 Monday afternoon, they should be there. If you are afraid of the international call cost they will call you back if you ask nicely.
Cheers Gary

My SA-250 order from week and a half ago (to Canada) still does not show up in my order list on the Emo site. Probably will not ever. But I have the amp, that's all that matters Send an email to customerservice@emotiva.com, they are pretty busy right now, but you should get a response in day or two...

Ok will do. Any comments about the xpa5? I am hoping for good things matching it with my goldenear triton speakers. Hopefully it's as good as all the reports are saying!

I am an international customer based in Australia. This is my second post in this forum. My first post a few minutes ago on UMC-1 to thank Emotiva for great customer service internationally where they do not have local technical support. I have been using XPA-5 (with UMC-1) now with UMC-200 and the power amplifier is excellent. I have never had any problem with it. Do not worry.

Another Aussie here with a XPA-5 and a XPA-2, had em for years now and never had a problem. And the sound quality is pretty damn good too.
Any of the Aussie's grabbed a XMC-1 yet, what did the final costs end up being. Did it break the $3k mark landed after customs/GST?

I haven't ordered yet. If it was imported now, using the current exchange rate it would break $3k. This puts it above the Yamaha CX-A5000 street price, and well above the Marantz AV7701. Of course the currency rates aren't Emo's fault, but in this country the XMC has some serious competition.
It's a different equation with a 40% discount card, face value of those is approaching AUD1000.

Would anyone know If I was to order a SA-250 amplifier to bring into Australia that Bongo has already calculated the Duty and taxes that we pay in Australia for importing something that is over $1000 AU?
It just seems the freight charge is quite high. $380 AU If I just put in just an XPA-200 though the freight is also higher than I remember at $293AU. (We would not pay any duty and taxes on this as it is under the threshold) Which makes me think that the freight charge is just that on the SA-250 and will not include the extra cost. It works out to be about 15% on top of the total including freight as it comes in. At a guess around $200AU
So really about $90 difference in freight between the 2 and the SA-250 will have Australian Duty and taxes applied as it comes in, of about 15% while the XPA-200 would be free of them.

Are you sure this is the case to Australia? See my above post. It just does not add up when I compare the XPA-200 shipped by itself to the SA-250 amp. As that would make the freight on the SA-250 about $180AU. (great price) Or Bongo is adsorbing costs in some items and offsetting it with the others that don't pay import taxes, duties into their country. This would be great on the more expensive items from Emotiva.

Duties and taxes on top for Australia I'm certain. Others have reported that I think Someone posted in my SNA thread that there was no more to pay. It was taken care of by Bongo. QUOTE: "I bought 2 of the Emotiva XPA-1L Class A monoblocks a few months back through Emotiva/Bongo. Everything was as described in the checkout amount. Custom duties included. Nothing to pay at this end."

In that case you're far better off to spend over $1000 then as it doesn't work out so bad. Spend under $1000 and freight is almost equal to the cost of the item. My guess is Bongo is adding taxes and duties to goods under the threshold when they shouldn't be. It's an automatic addition I reckon for them.

I went through the order again, but this time I clicked one more screen further into it. I went to the screen after it gave me the quote for shipping and now I notice a line that has Duty/Tax:: Pay courier on deliverySo it seems like I will have to pay extra on top of the freight for Duty/Taxes? Thanks for the above info richardrc. If this is the case, then it is just to much to consider now getting one. I have brought many Emotiva products over the years but looks like it has come to an end for me. Its a shame but it is what it is now. Bongo is there new System and until they change (if they ever do) I will just have to be looking elsewhere. At least I got my XMC-1 before this Bongo was used.
