Hello all International Customers! Buying Emotiva products internationally is now easier than ever with Emotiva's new shopping cart. We have a new feature that allows you to purchase from us and have your order shipped to you through Bongo International. You can also check freight quotes, duties and taxes and purchase in your local currency without added conversion fees. If you are interested the Eclub discount program all you need to do is purchase first in a separate transaction before you place an order for your products. Please check out this video tutorial to help with any questions or you can give us a call at 877-366-8324. We are pretty excited about this, hope to hear from all of my old friends in Norway! Have a good weekend! Cathy

Yes, very easy, I live in Australia and I just brought my UMC-200 with this method. Great service. One thing I could like to ask. Do you issue a printed receipt as I did not found one with the unit? Thanks.

Hi Cathy
Good news indeed for those of us abroad (UK for me), although when I've ordered things in the past, the sales teams have always been super helpful and have always sorted things out with a quick email exchange.
Whilst on the international front, was the any more news on the proposed European warehouse?
Thanks
pete S

Hi, I've been told that XPR amps are not being shipped internationally, Is this correct? If so, when might I/we expect that to change?
Note: I'm UK based.
Regards, Dave

Also, it would only serve the EU nations, so after searching and considering several solutions, this was the best for our customers by far . Pricing is awesome, hope you all check it out. Enjoy!

Hi Cathy I'm not sure if you guys get special pricing on Bongo, but to be fair, shipping is only part of the pain. By not having a warehouse in the EU, we also get killed on tax. So, take the UMC-200. $599 in store. Shipping on Bongo is $106 on Bongo, then duty is 4.5% and tax is 20% both payable on goods plus shipping. So, the UMC-200 actually costs $885 - i.e. 47% more than in the US. Using something like Marantz as a comparison (not because they're the same products but just because they're widely available there and here), the new NR1605 is $699 in the US (list) and £450 in the UK. At the normal average exchange rate of 1.5, that's exactly the same price between the US and the UK. Even at today's very inflated exchange rates of around 1.7, it's only 9% more expensive in the UK than the US. Now, I'm not trying to get into a discussion around whether the UMC-200 is a good device - I really like mine - but for international customers, they're nothing like as good value as they are for US customers. I try and buy my Emo stuff whilst in the US and bring it back with me - I try and be my own (free) shipping company pete S

In checking the price in Europe of the Marantz NR1605 I have found it at Euros 699: www.thomas-electronic-online-shop.de/Marantz-AV-Receiver-NR-1605-schwarzAt the current exchange rate it translates into 950 US dollars which is 36% higher than the US price that you mentioned... in Germany, where VAT is lower than in Italy for example. Ciao, Flavio

Don't feel bad, we have that same problem in Canada with it being a good 40% or more expensive due to shipping, import duties, and exchange rate. I bought the Sherbourn PT-7030 at the warehouse sale which was $550US and it came to $860Can due to the low exchange rate at the time and everything else. That's closer to a 50% increase or more.

Thank you Flavio for bringing up and explaining the VAT and taxes. Paying and collecting these are unfortunately out of our control and are determined by the Country you live in. If our warehouse was down the street from you, taxes and or VAT would still have to be included. Not having all of the additional fees (warehousing, fulfillment, order processing, etc)keeps our costs down to our customers. Also remember you can now use your local credit cards and do not incur fees for currency conversion.

May I ask why you can not ship the XPR5 to Europe? Thanks My guesses; 1. It's too heavy. 2. The pallet is not internationally certified. 3. International freight insurance is too expensive. 4. The volume (of sales) doesn't justify the effort. 5. Airfreight clearance isn't available for that weight of electronic equipment. 6. Sea freight would take too long. 7. None of the above. 8. All of the above. BTW they don't ship XPR's to Australia either, so don't feel discriminated against. Cheers Gary

Yes, Americans pay taxes, but we do not have a national VAT. Most states, counties, and cities have their own sales taxes. Some states have laws requiring citizens to voluntarily submit sales tax payments for goods bought in other states, but I don't think many people actually do so as it is difficult to enforce. There have been cases of states suing Amazon.com and other major Internet retailers to force them to collect sales tax in each state.

May I ask why you can not ship the XPR5 to Europe? Thanks Still no answer, as usual is this information not shared. After you made the decision that you want to buy the XPR-5, normally this decission takes a couple of days, and you go to the order procedure you get a message that they don't ship it internationally. In the product info on the site there is info about transport on a pallet but nothing about no international shipment. Essential information for the international customer. Another thing is that I have to found out in this thread that there won't be an European warehouse. European customers are waiting years for this information. Very dissapointing the way Emotiva is communicating lately. Another thing that popped up an hour ago about the long awaited XMC-1: "another here (inSingapore) was just on the phone to them and they are not prepared to ship his internationally yet seems....WTH!!! I fear I am going to be in the same boat. Something about shipping it back if needed..."

I don't get it either!!
If the buyer is aware and happy to accept the shipping costs (and insurance presumably) and the seller (Emotiva) has packed correctly ( which they have otherwise they would not be able to ship nation wide in the US), then.....................what is the problem?
Somebody hold their hand up and explain, with no BS about shipping returns policy blah blah as the seller accepts that surely, so cut to it and explain all.
Please.

The certification, including quarantine, for shipping within Australia is very different from that required for International freight. I presume that the US is the same. So just because it's OK in the US doesn't mean it's OK internationally. Just because it's OK for road freight in the US doesn't mean it's automatically OK for air freight internationally. Keeping in mind that you can always use a re-shipper. Cheers Gary
